Don't forget about perpetually injured Matty P who scored a hat trick leading to some of their posters coming bye and asking if we had anymore "scraps" to give them
I actually did forget about him. Turns out those were his only 3 goals of the season.

I wonder what the market for rentals will look like by the deadline.

Flames are probably among the very few contending teams who could take on this cap and term. Otherwise it would not have happened until later and a guy like Toffoli with 2 more years after this one would not likely have been moved.

Confirmed by TSN.

And so it begins.

Edit: The Canadiens will receive forward Tyler Pitlick, prospect Emil Heineman, a first-round pick and a 2024 fifth-round pick in return for Toffoli.

Seems like a decent return for a guy who likely isn't part of their core going forward.

Flames adding some extra scoring punch to a sound, well-coached roster.

Yeah, I'm kind of curious if we see a few more trades for guys with term. I wonder what the price for Toffoli would've been if Montreal had retained any salary.

I don't think that affects the price much, unless they retained a lot. Even at 50% it is not all that much to justify paying a lot more. And Habs need to recover cap space. Flames had the room.

Not so sure about that, cap space is super premium right now.

Toffolli has some familiarity with said coach too.

Nice deal for both sides imo.

Looks like the cap shenanigans with Vegas are about to begin.

Stone on LTIR as his wonky back is preventing him from playing and his 6 specialists don't know what is going on.. but he will magically be ready and healthy come the start of the playoffs. I mean he just partook in the Allstar game a week and a half ago. The league can't seem to help themselves with how much of a joke they look like for allowing this stuff to keep happening.

Jack to debute Wednesday.

There isn't one. Their drafting the last 10 years is atrocious. Only Sergachev is a dominant player and he broke out while part of Tampa.

And they still have the same guy around that has been head of drafting. Although I read that Marty Lapointe might be doing that now. Lapointe was a scout for the Blackhawks
