I mean one bad game doesn't change the fact that he's a legitimate Hart contender this season.
No it doesn’t, but the team itself better shore up their 5v5 play because a team like Pittsburgh will make it an early exit for them.

Would love to claim the home town boy just to annoy the crap out of him. If I remember correctly we tried to get him and he rejected it. Screw him lol
Yeah well I’m glad things are working out so well for him in Vegas. Because we all know the grass is greener on the other side right ? Unfortunately Vegas hasn’t been so green of late.

Don't get how Ottawa is to blame. How do you have a contract on your cap list and not know the details in this day and age?

Vegas has overplayed their hand. They sign someone like Brossoit for 3x the minimum salary. They've made luxurious buys every chance they've had. They are tens of millions over the cap. Even moving Dadonov doesn't get them all the way clear. They are literally gambling on their players being injured until playoffs start but they aren't even in the playoffs.

Ottawa is to blame because the NHL doesn’t want their golden boys to look bad.

I can see it partially being Ottawa’s fault but it’s embarrassing that Vegas didn’t know the terms to the contract of one of their own players.

I don't blame Ottawa at all and no one should.

You can go on a public website, look up Vegas, look up Dadonov, and see:

CLAUSE DETAILS: Player submits a 10 team no trade list.

OK, now maybe the website doesn't list the 10 teams, but you know, maybe, I don't know, ask to see the fine details as filed to the NHL offices before you try to trade someone.

This is all on Vegas.

Those lists aren't filed to the league office. They're filed to the team by the player and his agent. The agent filed the list to Ottawa on June 30, 2021.

The issue wasn't Vegas not being aware of the clause. The issue was that Vegas was led to believe the clause was void because Ottawa didn't say anything about the list when the trade was made.

Vegas isn't without blame. They checked with Dadynov's agent before they made the trade and he told them that they had submitted a list and that Anaheim was on it. Vegas didn't bother to verify the list with Ottawa. Maybe they were running out of time, who knows. The only way Ottawa is 100% wrong here is if they told Vegas that he didn't send a list on time, which given the group running that team, definitely could've happened.

Maybe I’m not following something but why would that mean Vegas was led to believe the clause was voided?

Dadanov is a contracted employee for Vegas, essentially. They didn’t bother to look into the terms of the contract at all in nine months they had him?

“Hmmm it says Dadanov has a limited NTC … Ottawa never sent anything over so it must be voided! No need to check with his agent or anything…”

I just don’t understand how this even got past the NHL. Don’t at least they have lawyers to do due diligence on these sorts of things?
