Vegas wanted to get their new shiny toy into the lineup thinking it would be easy street to the playoffs, then they could unleash all their injured players into the mix.

Maybe I’m missing something, but Vegas can’t just activate players unless they’re cap compliant right now correct?

I believe you are correct, getting rid of Dadonov would of helped bring back some of the injured, but in the playoffs they could ice whoever they would want regardless of cost, got to make the playoffs first

Exactly. So what they’ve totally f***ed up is their cap management. They were never going to bring all these guys back in the regular season. Injuries have piled up on them way too much for them to overcome.

When they traded for Eichel everyone said they would run into cap troubles when the time came to putting him in the lineup

It’s also funny that they’ve done everything they can to get away from what made them good in the first place. There’s no balance. They’ve moved out good prospects and draft picks consistently. When these players age they will be in serious trouble.

Somebody pointed yesterday that they only have 4-5 guys left from the expansion draft

They will have to though if they are cleared to play. They’ll have to waive guys until they are compliant and if they don’t the league will do it for them. They need about $14 million in cap to bring back Martinez and Stone and they are currently at $726,000 in LTIR pool.

If either need to come off LTIR before the end of game 82 they are completely screwed.

Now will the NHL actually handle this matter or turn a blind eye to their favourite sons? Looking back it’s kind of nuts the NHL approved the Eichel trade which essentially put Vegas almost $20 million over the hard cap when they are relying on LTIR pool. I wonder if any other franchise made that trade if it would have been approved.

They've just added Reilly Smith to LTIR so that gives them a bit of room.

And yes, that trade would've been approved for anyone. There's no Vegas conspiracy.

Smith and pacioretty conveniently have "setbacks" in their recovery and remain on IR. Lol Vegas; as corrupt as Tim peel and Kelly Sutherland.
I know he has an NMC but Mark Stone for Scheif would help Vegas' cap situation

11 goals in the Calgary Edmonton game and it’s not even up to the middle of the second period yet.
Crazy hockey.
It’s interesting watching the play by play. Cassie waits until there’s a whistle before she pipes in. It’s just constant play by play until there’s a break. So refreshing and a pleasure to listen to.
I knew that Beyak and Sawyer had drifted from that but I had no idea how much.
