For that highlight it sure is an appropriate comparison, though... Seemingly slow/lumbering dekes but somehow gets through the defense.

It's funny that Laine's goal was an amazing move but still probably the 3rd best goal of the year behind McDavid's goal against the Rangers (best) and Jets (2nd).

Contract year will do wonders for a guy. Don't worry, when he gets his fat contact he'll go back to that same inconsistent, one dimensional player we all know.

I also don't get why non Jets board members come here to post about Laine? He's not on our team, and we are extremely happy with our return for him.

It may not be all Schadenfreude (or something that basic), along the lines of "look what the Jets lost". Points of truth:

1. Patrik still sequesters a massive following in Finland, and those from that population may have first found their voice first on this little board.
2. Those folks continue to follow his progress through cold streaks and hot.
3. Drafted by the Jets, rookie season here, and the Jets were the first team that he crossed 40 goals with (clearly his best season).

All of the cross-posting could be due to simple interest. Or that and a mixture of Schadenfreude.

It's safe to say Patrik Laine is not on the trade block ahead of the March 21 deadline.

In an interview with TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun in The Athletic, Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen sounded off on trade rumours that have surrounded the 23-year-old pending restricted free agent.

“Yeah it bothers me because people make up s---, that’s what bothers me,’’ Kekalainen said. “I understand that sometimes from conversations you have (with teams) some of it may leak out, and a name gets in there, but this is not a case like that. This is just somebody making s--- up from their own speculation of what we might do. They make it up and hope for the headlines and hope for the clicks. I think that’s unethical. And I don’t have any time for it.’’

Hypothetical Question, if NHL teams agree to not draft Russian players for the upcoming draft, what does Montreal do?

First round exits ??

Both teams are weak in that area .......

That's crazy. Seriously, all the Oilers need is a decent goalie.

TML? Who knows? It is getting to be like the 'Cubs Curse'.
Maybe Campbell rebounds for the PO and they finally get past the 1st rd. Or maybe the curse continues. Campbell has been bad recently, but his season numbers are still pretty good.

But Edmonton not being in the market for a real goalie? Is that a joke? Is that fire the GM just for that alone territory?

You must be bad at poker.
If a team is after a certain player they will not advertise it ... they don't want to get in a bidding war.
