Someone who used to work for the team told me they weren't as interested in hosting the draft as much as the All Star game. Also mentioned to that point, the team hasn't got the chance because there isn't a central hub near the arena with hotels, restaurants, and entertainment to accommodate the influx of players, their families, and visiting fans (and their families).

I imagine the OC Vibe project as well as the renovations to the arena will change things once the former is completed.
Is OC Vibe supposed to be fully open in a few years? I've been looking at buying a condo/townhouse somewhere closer to the Ducks, doubt it'll be in my price range but I want to see what they have near that area. Property values should go up when it's done.

Are they seriously trying to say they think there is nothing to do in SoCal? or that everything has to be walking distance from their $1,000 a nite hotel? UFB. smh

I don't know that it's necessarily a requirement by any means - just that other cities have that, which is a reason they've been getting the All Star game and we haven't.

Well, then they should try harder to come up with something that makes more sense. If they want to rate cities by tourism statistics I'm sure we're nearer to the top of the league than the bottom.

i have a feeling part of the reason why the pond has yet to host a draft or ASG is that LA has hosted both in recent years

It'll be open ... some indeterminate time in future.
I remember they said A-town "live/work" development across from Stadium lofts at katella/st college would be open within 12 months ... back in 2007 lol. It's still a dirt lot so ...
if you find a nice place and it's in your budget, go for it. But don't buy just with intention of value going up due to oc vibe to flip the place in 2 yrs

No, I was going to air bnb or rent it out for a while. Have one house paid off in the next 10 years, sell the other one and move out to Anaheim. I figure if OC Vibe is built, there will be a few years where rent will be high to help offset costs. Long term goal is to move out to that area.

I remember reading that they're going to have it finished by the 2028 olympics because volleyball will be played at Honda Center

Yeah, I thought I read that too. I need to figure out which areas around there are decent places to buy (safe area and "reasonable" prices... which I'm guessing are none).

The Oilers have woken up from their two month nap, but man, Carolina looks extraordinarily meh for a Stanley Cup favorite. Sure they have a goalie problem, but they are leaky defensively; I don’t remember a Brind-Amour coached team surrendering this many odd-man and high danger chances

how can you have crosby, malkin, and karlsson on a PP and still be that bad?
Too many cooks, not enough pucks. I think Karlsson is used to having puck on his stuck for entire PP. Having both him and Letang on same PP seems counterintuitive

could be. karlsson and burns were both PP QB1s with SJ and outside of their first season there together, the sharks PP was usually in the bottom half

but even then, i still don't get how you can have crosby and malkin out there on a PP together and not score more

So apparently the Rangers can’t score goals anymore either. I hate my life. Lol.

Someone finally posts a main boards ducks suck thread and it gets locked after 15 posts for no apparent reason.

Guess we can't have discussions on the main boards about supporting characters. Only the main teams like oilers, sens and sharks get threads. Surprised they still even let us have our own team boards, why not just consolidate the ducks board into the lounge.

Seriously though, why'd that get locked?

Because the people who care about the Ducks are all here and those posting there can't even be bothered to check who's missing from the lineup? Like we haven't been missing essentially 3 young core players for most of this poor stretch.

If our players do something great, like the Leo or Frankie hat tricks, I will not hesitate to post a new thread on the mains, you guys gotta post there to keep it alive, nothing wrong with being proud of your team, but sadly nothing to really be proud of with this group as of late. :dunno:

When it comes to “The Ducks are Horror Bad” type threads, it usually has to be started by a non-Ducks fan and not a rival fan either so it’s not considered trolling.
