Kyrou has explicitly denied being anywhere near the incident location. IIRC he was away with his family for a prior commitment. Thomas has denied being anywhere near the room. I remember reading reports about several players (Thomas included) who did not join the dinner party/carousing earlier post golf outing. I DO NOT HAVE LINKS this is just what I remember reading online the past few years.
I should clarify my remarks a bit:

* Do I think Thomas and/or Kyrou were involved? No.
* Do I know neither one was involved? No, and neither does anyone else. The only two people who can say that with absolute certainty are Thomas and Kyrou. [And then anyone else who can fully and unequivocally corroborate their whereabouts at the time the incident took place - but that's no one in this forum.]
* Does a player saying "I was definitely not there" mean they were definitely not there? No. As a TV character once said, "people lie." Rely on proven facts, not conjecture and hope.
* Do I think Armstrong has a sense of what their role is/isn't? Yes.
* Do I think Armstrong knows for sure? Unless he's got direct proof out of the 2nd question above, no. Given a tweet X whatever the hell it's called by Rick Westhead and a corresponding article in The Globe and Mail, it sounds like senior leadership in Hockey Canada had no clue when the settlement was made; who knows how long it took before leadership was made aware, who knows how long after that a message was passed along [if it was passed along ... which, again, given reporting on HC, I can see not happening] to the staff in charge of selecting guys for the various Team Canada rosters.

FWIW, there were several players who declined to comment or issued nebulous statements. If someone WAS involved to deny they were there would be insanely stupid. Would make more sense to not deny being there and just deny you did anything wrong. Of course, what some of these guys allegedly did was insanely stupid so..

If I remember correctly and that's a big IF. Kyrou was in the US at the time of the event which can 100% be proven, via airports or customs at the border.

I remember Courtnall and Stevens being suspected of similar conduct when we acquired them.

Both denied misconduct and nothing came of it.

It took me far to long to get why all those players were listed.

From what I've seen of the case, it looks bad. If they're convicted, I hope they get the maximum sentence.

i love this trade! canucks may have best top 9 in west with lindholm they have a goalie who can steal a series. they may well be best team in west in the end, no matter how obnoxious their fanbase can be. and calgary got full value here. they weren't resigning him and they got in addition to the obligatory 1st and raondo prospect, a overate prospect with still potentially nice upside and reclamation project in kuzmenko they can potentially rehabilitate value on and flip for more assets. everybody wins! until canucks get knocked out by a wild card team and the ohl legend prospect flops. either way, so much fun for us! i love this trade!!!
