You guys see this? f***ing Blues failing us and not doing the same.

I don't see how the Blues have failed us. KnightTime+ is essentially the same as Bally Sports+ which you could purchase for watching Blues games.

Based on that article you only get the VGK games on KnightTime+ vs. you get other non Blues Bally's content with BSMW+. It will be interesting to see if KnightTime+ eventually develops other content in addition to the games with other exclusive hockey, NHL, or VGK related shows, or would also include their AHL Henderson Silver Knights games.

If it becomes more like a visual version of what the Ducks do with their audio network via DuckStream then it would different from what you could otherwise get from buying a tradional RSN's streaming package.

The Blues rights belong to an outside company. It's not "essentially" the same. A dollar per game is also considerably cheaper than 20$ a month for Balleys. If the Blues would join in with the Cardinals and make their own streaming platform it would be very popular.

The Knights broadcast rights are owned by Scripps Sports, a deal they are just beginning this season. Las Vegas Sun News

While KnightTime+ is created in partnership with Scripps and the branding is VGK specific, operationally it’s the same as Bally’s holds the Blues rights and offers games on BS+. Why the Cardinals aren’t also streamed there is a question I don’t understand, especially with the Cards already owning a 30% share of BS Midwest.

I hope that the Vegas package is very successful. Successful enough that other teams follow suit.

FWIW, Bally Sports still hasn't legally committed to airing Blues games this year, so there is still a not-insignificant chance that the Blues have to scramble to get their games available locally. I would absolutely love a direct-to-consumer model like this, especially at the $1 per game price point.

Yeah if there’s a way the Blues and cardinals could get a STL centered channel, that’d be incredible. Maybe even find a way to tie in college sports (SLU, Lindenwood, etc.)
I would pay good money to have a STL sports channel with all of the games. Give me some local college hockey too.

Damn, just read the news about Chris Snow, the Calgary AGM. If any of you recall, he was diagnosed with ALS. Well...he went into cardiac arrest, catastrophic brain injury from lack of oxygen, and he's not expected to wake up. He's only forty-two years of age.

Just...guys, if you love someone, tell them. Hug them. Make every moment count because you never really know if you're going to have another moment.

Tragic. RIP. I try to suppress stuff like this because it scares the hell out of me. One day you're on top of the world living the dream, the next you're diagnosed with that... Terrifying.

Oooof...Tanner Jeanot just beat the brakes off Niko Mikkola

Not even sure why Mikkola agreed to fight him because Jeannot is an animal.

Guess he was trying to impress his new team in what’s been a rough and tumble game, but I doubt he will make that mistake again lol.

I really know nothing about an expansion or what city has the best possible outcome but it seems shitty as f*** to me to offer not only the same state but the same town another team after their last one had to pack it in and move a decade ago. Give a team back to Quebec FFS.

Quebec is never getting another franchise.

I wouldn't mind a team in KC if they could support it. There's already a good rivalry in baseball & soccer, why not hockey? Would make for good back to back games with a short trip there instead of chicago where you're bound to get shot, robbed, etc.

Logically speaking, the best way to get a team in Quebec is to put one in Atlanta. That’s how Calgary and Winnipeg got their teams. :sarcasm:
