Bruce not being available this past offseason was yet another in a neverending series of franchise destroying calamities that have befallen this organization over the past decade. If he was our coach there is no doubt in my mind we would be in a playoff spot right now.

There are a limited amount of coaching slots that exist in the NHL. Guys want NHL jobs. Period. The poor “optics” of moving on from one after a year to get a better one is overstated. Besides, candidates already spurn the Sabres.

Hire Boudreau immediately. Hell, if it needs to look better, do what a lot of these teams do. Hire him to an “advisory role” and then a little later you can the current coach and he takes over.

The point increases he’s demonstrated with multiple teams is very impressive. Not that I have any idea what the hell I'm talking about, but BB is in my top 5 in the league.

His winning percentages over the three teams he has coached are among the best in hockey. He puts in good defensive structure and good offensive structure. I don't care that the F bomb is his every other word. Give me the guy who has adaptability to his talent and can get results. If that means "associate coach" or co-coach or whatever, look into it.

But we know they won't. The talk will be just like it was with Phil - give him time, can't change after just a year, yadda yadda. You know, the same things that were said when Trotz was available. Or Q last year.

Botterill is famously slow to adjust. Our only chance for this to happen is if Botterill gets canned before someone else hires Bruce. If the past is any indication, Bruce does not stay unemployed for long.

It was two days from him leaving DC and landing in Anaheim.

God damn it. The camera work by NBC in the outdoor game is going to make this game unwatchable. Regardless of angle, too much camera motion and zooming.
