I'm a bit young to have seen him played, but in reading about him, I'm absolutely floored that the Rangers front office thought it was a good idea to hire him as the coach of the Rangers. That's like the Rangers hiring Brodeur to be the next coach.
Yeah, that was a totally irrational decision. Like the fox guarding the hen house.

"I totally didn't hit his head when I broke his jaw."

Since the neck is a flexible series of bones you CAN hit someone in the chest or shoulder and their head - being attached to the neck - can snap forward and hit your shoulder or your head/helmet. So hitting someone in the chest/shoulder can cause their jaw to hit YOU. Which is completely different than YOU hitting their head as the initial point of contact (i.e., targeting their head).

This is how someone falls on their ass on the ice in their driveway and still smacks their head on the ground and gets a concussion. Did their head hit the ground FIRST? No, first their ass, their elbows, their back and THEN their head. It's just physics. I see post after post of this nonsense. Why is this so hard to grasp?

lol "collisions."

What a cop out.
He had his head down and got clocked. The real issue in the league is letting rats like Marchand run around and get away with shit because fighting has been phased out of the game. There’s no one in the league to keep the rats in check. But hey what would I know, I don’t read spreadsheets about players

WTF is Marchand licking Cally like that??? He should be given at least a minor plus 10 minutes for that. Pure sign of disrespect I give Cally credit for keeping his temper in check and not cross checking him right across the chest.

Marchand is a POS, but if this really gets Cally motivated then so be it. Although he has been very good in this series, but a goal would really send a message.

I didn't hear what she said, I have the CBC feed. Nick Kypreos and Kelly Hrudey let Marchand have it big time. I agreed with every word. The whole panel let him have it.
She said she's shocked he doesn't get sucker punched for that. At least she had the guts to say it.
I guess I'm too old school because to me licking someone in the face or spitting in someones face is as bad as it gets.

Yes difference is Cally will try to hit him legally one day when he pulls something like this it will motivate someone to crush him in the numbers into the boards.

"There's not anybody sitting down" says Pierre as the camera shows everyone near the penalty box sitting on their seats. Great work as always NBC...
