I’m not talking about Prust’s hit, I disagree with him, his hit was late and intentional. I’m debating the Wilson hit. He hit a guy who had his head down, you’re taught at a young age to keep your head up.

Ah, my bad.

I still don't agree that ZAR has any more responsibility on the play than he exercised; his only other option was to simply let Washington have the puck.

If Wilson hadn't contorted himself to ensure that he was throwing a high hit, then it probably wouldn't of been a suspension.

It’s a valid point, I just think if it’s anyone not named Wilson it’s a non issue. Plus it’s the Pens who “whine enough for the whole league” as Torts once said

Premeditated? Hockey is a fast game, situations arise in the blink of an eye, decisions are made in split seconds. I guess they haven’t factored that onto a spreadsheet yet. Premeditated is McSorley on Brashear. Premeditated is Bertuzzi on Moore. Matt Martin on Talbot. Simon on Hollweg.
Wilson is working on his tenth incident. At what point does he not get the benefit of the doubt?

Or has that not factored into the cave wall yet?

Look at the reaching around by Kucherov. To me, it's a real textbook holding penalty. Maybe we disagree, but I bet most refs would say it is a penalty too. They just missed it.

I see your point. It could have been called because it looked like penalty. When I watched the replay I didn't see Kucherov actually grab him, he reached but didn't actually grab IMO. May need to look again, not 100% sure. I was surprised it WASN'T called because in real time it looked terrible.

Girardi gets the Rangers better draft position.

I’m all seriousness, I’m glad for him. He obviously wasn’t finished. Just needed a better coach.
His final lasting impression can't be positive. He's going to do something to put Washington in the Finals :(

I think Girardi had pretty much had his run here.......I always liked him though. I think he gave everything he could and we're finding out he can still play at least in a system that doesn't constantly leave him exposed like AV's man on man thing. For Tampa he doesn't have to be the first pairing guy chasing around the league's best players.....he's properly slotted into the lineup.

I think he targeted the shoulder and deflected to the jaw. I'm jumping in late and I see your view, so let's agree to disagree on Wilson's intent.

I'm all for removing head shots so if the league wants to punish the hitter for incidental contact, I'm all for it.

The thing I want is consistency. If we take away benefit of the doubt on Wilson, fine. Then the league needs to sit Crosby down for his next stick infraction that crosses the line. Shot to the nuts one week and then he maimed a finger the next. He scored a backhanded goal with one hand in that timeframe. Don't sell me "one-in-a-million" or "no one can hit a finger with that accuracy on purpose." He's elite skill level but he can't be responsible for a stick after someone's finger explodes.

Consistency would eliminate 90% of complaining because when the perceived golden child has had 4 or 5 incidents with no discipline, people have a bias to point to. Suspend him and a message is received league wide.

That's my rant and it's not targeted at you. I don't know your personal stance on the Crosby stuff but it was my window to step in. This league is 10 times better with skill compared to the clutching and goonery 20ish years ago.
