They won't because for the most part the teams in the West would prefer to stay in their own time zones and close to their opponents. I know sometimes that doesn't always happen because of the WC but that was another big reason for the format change.

Two division winners, then the next six best teams. Win your division, you get home ice until you meet up with the other division winner. Best record gets home ice in that case. Re-seed by record otherwise.

The whole corridor of New Brunswick to Jersey City sucks big time. Gimme the Northwest or just about any place south of I-195 (except Camden).

Bergen County is really nice. Places like Oakland, Lodi, even Patterson. Westfield is really nice as is Holmdel even though that amphitheater is garbage. Princeton is a wonderful place during the spring/summer. Newark stink and Camden makes DC look like the suburbs.

It's once you enter Paterson and then get on the parkway and go south that you have a problem for the next 35 miles until you reach Edison, and by that time, you're so far into central jersey. Sayreville isn't a terrible spot, and everything south of that for the next 40-50 miles is all real nice beach area and/or open forest areas, and for those parts, it's great.

But the issue is what is in between Lower Bergen Country (Ridgefield Park, Rutherford, etc area) and Edison/Sayreville. It's Newark, Elizabeth, East Orange, Harrison, North Bergen, Union City, and hell even jersey city--they are ALL shitholes. Friend of mine's gf owns a house in JC, she'll make a killing when she sells it, but f*** man, the area is f***ing terrible.

I live in a town called North Haledon, borders Haledon (which borders Paterson) and Franklin Lakes, so we get the best of both worlds. Oakland, Wyckoff, Fair Lawn, Fairfield, Wayne, Saddle Brook, Hawthorne--they are all amazing surrounding towns. Hell, even Hackensack and Teaneck aren't so bad. I work in Montvale/Woodcliff Lake, and damn it's amazingly beautiful up here.

PS: Camden is not a town--it is a wasteland, lmfao... It's basically Philly junior (says a lot about Philly too, eh? :p)

Paterson is awful. Passaic County up by Ringwood, Hamburg and Franklin is also nice. So is Mercer Country north of Trenton along the river. I hate Rt 206 through Princeton. Drive US 40 west of Mays Landing and you’d think you were in the South.

Philly is paradise compared to Camden. I used to do field work and I go so many parts of the Mid-Atlantic states. The only place as devoid of hope as Camden is Chester, PA. I do understand how anyone could maintain any optimism living in such a place.

Irvington and East Orange are worse. I used to work for company that had offices in both Edison and Marlton? Guess which one I preferred working out of?

Where I now work, my sites are in South Jersey. I barely ever deal with any traffic.

1.) Can I ask where in JC? I just bought my first home in the Jersey City Heights--which besides downtown that you can't touch, is the second most trendy/expensive spot in the city--in the western slope and it is such a nice residential area...

...and I also renovated a run-down 2 bedroom condo with a garage so it's all new and modern and awesome to live in and yes, I will make a killing when I sell it in a few years :D

2.) Add Ridgewood and Glen Rock (where I grew up) to that second bolded list; they are beyond nice suburbs. I'd even call GR the most sterotypical suburb in the US haha (I've had friends visit before and they called it 'Pleasantville' lol)

You didn't see the NHL's video on this? It showed it from a completely different angle and he gets all head with his shoulder. It's very much worth watching from beginning to end. They did their homework on this one. That was very much a predatory hit.

I didn't. I'll watch. I likely won't change my mind.

I was listening this afternoon to TSN 690 (Montreal all day sports radio), and they had Rick Dudley, former Habs AGM, who just days ago became the Canes SVP, Hockey Operations and they were talking draft picks. He said that the second overall pick is in play if an attractive offer is presented.
I know all teams will trade their pick if they get a really good package, but I found it strange that it would be in play considering the amazing player(s) available, especially forwards that they're looking for and need, especially cost controlled (for at least 3 years)...

Dudley and Waddell together in Carolina...this is not going to end well for the Hurricanes.
