What is the difference between McDavid's legs and lower body and the 700 other players' in the league? It's crazy how much faster he is comparedd to the #2 guy.

There are other players that are about as fast. The difference is that McDavid retains control of his game at high speed. He can think, juke, stickhandle, and shoot while going full blast. It's incredible.

Hatty for McDavid and Shutout for Talbot. Nice way to start the season.

The thing with McDavid is that he doesn't look fast. His movement isn't flashy but he just outskates everyone

Yeesh, Leafs fan really have made the main board an unreadable cesspit. It was never great, but it's now finding new lows to hit...

Was always going to happen. Imagine Leafs and Habs having really good teams in the same time lol.

I still get a lot of pleasure watching the Jets lose after all those Trouba trade threads last year.

Agreed, the big difference is his ability to think and control at that speed. When you're able to do that, that's when you have an elite or franchise talent.

Everything McDavid does is in slow motion for him, it's at warp speed for the rest of us.

Similarities between McDavid and Crosby, arguably best two players in the game: Nothing flashy. They just do it better than the ham-and-eggers.

The switch to Philly-SJ was a regional decision. Doc said those being entertained by Pens-Blues could continue on the NBCSN app. Makes a lot of sense these days to point people to the app.

Andersen definitely saved the Leafs early before they took over. Solid positioning.

He's what Latrell Sprewell once said. Stupid fast.

With everything that happened last year, I didn't have a chance to enjoy the start of the season. Maybe that's why I am stoked for this season like I haven't been in a while.

I'm intrigued by the roster we have heading into the season, and there are a number of players around the league, beyond the Rangers, I particularly like:

Tkachuk and Horvat are easily on the list. Older favorites like ROR, Ladd, Landeskog, etc.

A new team in Vegas, where I spent a large portion of my life. Some guys in other leagues I look forward to observing this season as well.

The Jets are difficult to assess. A lot of potential.

Poorly coached IMO. There's enough talent there to be better than they have been. It's only the first game of the season but it's all the same problems they've been having for years

Leadership starts at the top and their GM is Kevin Cheveldayasshat. The incompetence then flows down to the coach and infects the players. Between my intense dislike of their GM and how the fanbase acted during the whole Trouba ordeal, the Jets have become a team that I am actively rooting for to lose.

So, am I the only one who thinks that Nashville won't be nearly as good this year and will struggle to get a wild card spot?

agreed on all counts, including the Nashville bit.

its not like they were a world beater in the regular season last year either. They barely snuck in. Rinne is a big ? for me. I don't care how good your defense is, if rinne plays like he did in the finals, the Preds are gonna struggle

Yep.

I'm guessing the WCF is going to be St. Louis v. Edmonton and the ECF is the New York.... RANGERS vs. Toronto.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they didn't make the playoffs. I think they will but barely as a wildcard.

Well if you hire a decent coach you can get by even if your GM is an ass. But Maurice is bad and has always been bad but they keep rolling with him.

But a great personal coach, according to Zucc.
