Wow...sick goal there by Neal....2nd of the night. Too funny....Vegas could be on way to their first win and only expansion team since the '92 Sens to win their first game ever.

So the two supposed worst teams in hockey the Avalanche and Vegas behind unreal goaltending beat two of the supposed better teams in the league in our Rongos and tonight the Stars. Can't make shit like this up. Guaranteed both these teams get blown out in their next games....just watch...:).

Good for them tho.

True, but what we don't need is another Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin type in our division for 20 years. That would be awful, we've dealt with that enough. I'll take the second rate players in our division all day, the NHL has parity, every team has some good players. The Devils winning some games this season is crucial to us avoiding having Dahlin in the division the next 20 years, so I'll be a Devils fan for just enough games this season.
 
This is true. I am actually unaware of how their late drafting is, which is what we should worry about more IMO. I think that's where we have to worry, if they find hidden stars or really good depth guys similar to the depth they had in the late 00's-2012. They still need a couple top talents though to be competitive though through and through for sure but I feel like sleeper guys are scarier

The Devils draft really well after the first round, but their first round of late has been pretty bad, mainly with Zacha and McLeod.

I think thats whats keeping them from contention. Take a look at how bad their defense is, could you imagine how much better it would be if they had Werenski and McAvoy instead of those two? They passed up on both of those two (who went in that range) for Zacha and McLeod in consecutive drafts. They would actually be a scary team who could make the playoffs if they had drafted better in the first round.
 
See I thought Zacha would be better. I was relieved they went after McLeod though. I remember them supposedly having a really good young core of defensemen to work around but I think they didn't pan out a la Gelinas ad Merrill
