Around The NHL #13

Unless Conroy is a complete idiot he's trading Hanifin to the highest bidder and giving zero poops about what Hanifin wants outside of his NTC 8 team list which is probably all other Canadian teams plus 2. He's not coming cheap to anyone.
IF Hanifin tells teams he wants to test the UFA market, Calgary won't get what they want. He has nothing to lose by testing the market, unless a team over pays now.

His highest value is at trade deadline to a team adding for Cup run.....they normally over pay.

Don't want Perry here unless he can transform into a Dman and if Perry became a Coyote Cooley's mom would require ample warning. :D

Omg is this stuff actually true haha. I laughed it off but maybe just maybe it’s actually legit. Story is that Perry banged Bedard’s (and maybe other players’) Mom’s on the annual Mom trip. That has to be made up right???

There’s obviously so much more to the story. Do we trust Chicago given their history with unacceptable behavior?

What..... with impeccable sources like this???

It’s really quite simple. If you don’t want unsubstantiated rumors swirling around about your team/players, then just tell the people buying merch and coming to games what’s going on with the team…don’t know why it’s so hard.

I listened to Davidsons press conference on Perry. He said all the nasty rumors are not true, but wouldn't divulge why Perry was released, just said its an internal matter, no other info, no law enforcement, all internal.

Hard to say why at this point....

These people are morons, I’m sorry. All this does is lead people to believe that 1) the rumors ARE actually true or 2) what’s actually is true is worse than the rumors and so they won’t share the information. If law enforcement isn’t involved in an issue like this I don’t see why it’s not in everyone’s best interest to just tell the public what’s up instead of letting them speculate.

I guess they figure it's no ones business.

1. The rumor is not true, he said that at the beginning. I doubt Davidson is lying, that one is squarely squashed.
2. If it was anything close to criminal, the Hawks for sure would have called the authorities, given their past.
3. There are workplace privacy issues and laws that protect employees on termination, that and whatever rules are in place with the NLPA likely prevented Davidson from saying why Perry was released.

Yeah I suppose you’re right…it’s just a more dicey situation for organizations when you’re so squarely involved with the public and to a certain extent, beholden to the public because they’re the ones paying your salaries. Then they want to know what’s up with players on the team and you go “yeeeah sorry, can’t tell ya!” Oh well…is what it is I guess.

this season is juicy between Perry, Fluery, Derrmont, the Oilers melting down, etc

if I'm an owner im starting to wonder if its time to move on from bettman
