Around The NHL #13

Everything in life isn't free.
No shit sherlock, but you know who's responsibility it is to make things better in the world we live in? Ours.

You can preach all you want about how easy people have it compared to how you had it, or how kids these days are so stupid, or how you didn't have the opportunities that these kids do, even if they have to pay a bunch (a hugely marked up price I might add) to get those opportunities, but at the end of the day it's your (and everyone else's) job to make things better than how it was for you.

Project much? I'm not sure where are the things you've suggested came from or how/why you've insinuated I would have this particular viewpoint but you do you all you want.

You quoted me saying something that is an extremely common dogwhistle for the mentality that I mentioned. Which definitely may not have been your intent to imply, but it doesn't really matter because only the first part of my post was actually addressed directly to you- admittedly I should have made it more clear that it was a general you in the 2nd part because you're right that you didn't directly say any of that.

Granted, I didn't say anyone did say those things, and was just using them as examples.

Leafs are scrapping Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" as their goal song after one game. The verses of the song are heavy on bad behavior and irresponsible living (which isn't, like, unusual in Cudi's songs), in contrast to the catchy chorus and iconic bridge.

Is society capable of separating art from artist? Or is righteous indignation too much fun?

I saw a comedian reel lately where he was making fun of folks trying to cancel the song Baby it's Cold Outside while the number 1 song on the charts was Wet-Ass p***y. If we have not been pushed too far on this stupidity already it has to be getting close.

There's a pretty big difference between WAP being about well, you know, and it's cold outside being (allegedly) about rape or toeing that line. I don't really think it is, but there's an argument to be made.

What?! They ditched Hall and Oates? Ha-rumph!

There's an argument? LOL! That's a reach.
No, there's an argument to be made. Which isn't too hard considering the things people will argue about these days. But it is certainly something that could be argued, even if I don't think it's a problem and probably only think right now that hardcore purity lovers would...you never know though! Maybe we'll see the guys journal get revealed or some bullshit. Shrug.

Carolina does not have an AHL affiliate and this is the outcome. The howling from the media if this was happening to the Coyotes…
no pun intended...

Yeah, sounds like in the game of musical chairs that is AHL affiliations, Carolina got stuck with the Chicago Wolves, the one AHL team that has always sorta wanted to be "above the fray" and independent...but how do they solve that, a 33rd AHL team?

TSN had a segment talking about there being too much media coverage of Bedard.

Yeah. You’re part of the problem, morons.
That happens when a highly touted player enters the league. But this year it seems a bit much.

Problem is that it is two fold...a generational player coming into the league and an original 6 franchise has him...it's because those 2 things happened is why. It wouldn't be like that if he had gone to Columbus, Seattle or Anaheim
