Hopefully this is the year the Bruins crash and burn. Sick of that fanbase.
Most annoying fanbase for me. Once the Bruins start to regress Detroit and Montreal will become relevant and they’ll become painfully annoying again. That division!

Well, we know one. He’s inexplicably in Europe despite being an RFA fresh off a great season in the capital city. There’s another guy that’s a free agent who shockingly wasn’t qualified and then has had a strange lack of interest and chatter around him on the UFA market, despite having a desirable powerforward profile (not unlike the fella in Europe).

Sad and gross that there are three more.

Here I thought this was already behind him and he was developing in minors. That's too bad.
Terrible story. Sometime this past spring the Leafs had him in Toronto and he was part of the team for a couple days. I guess the gesture kind of makes more sense now. Gave the Kid an NHL day. At the time I just thought it was part of his recovery process.

That's probably why I was thinking he was in recovery. I'm glad the Leafs gave him that opportunity. First round pick #15 and only 21 years old.

Bit of a sketchy url, eh?

@rt thoughts on Logan Stanley?

Jets have too many LHD. Something has to give. I was thinking for Soderstrom but maybe there is something around Jenik?
Don’t love Stanley. But could see BA doing Jenik for him. I don’t think he’s better than any of Soderstrom, Stecher, or Brown. Maybe not even Dermott. But I guess he’s good Dermott insurance. If Dermott can’t hack it or stay healthy, Stanley-Stecher would be the 3rd pair and Brown the reserve, I guess.

Does attaching Jenik to Soderstrom + a 2nd land Hanifin? Maybe sweeten it a bit with a 3rd or 4th too? Or even…

Hanifin extended for Jenik + Soderstrom + 2024 2nd + 2025 2nd

Feels a little early for something like that. If he was a couple years younger or not quite as expensive (he might get more than that). I don’t want to go down the path of pulling out of the rebuild too early. Cool with pulling out of the tank. Maybe I’m wrong. That one just feels a little premature.

We traded a 2nd for McBain. We traded a 2nd for Durzi. These guys were 2018 picks. Hanifin is a 2015 pick.

True. I think you’re probably right with that line of thinking. BA seems very methodical and patient and a move like that is probably something we will see possibly next offseason if this one continues on an upward trajectory…possibly even the season after that.

There may also be some pretty good players available after training camp as kids around the league surprise. I tell Jenik come to training camp and prove he belongs. Could it be possible BA is tired of his attitude and does not qualify him?

Meanwhile 3 weeks later, still crickets.

Yep. That’s the point of the QO offer.
Exactly. Tell him to grow up and come to camp like a big boy and earn a job if he thinks he is so good, and maybe not take dumb penalties.
