Pretty cheap. How many millions he has cost himself with his attitude and mouth? Who's a good comparable player? Cam Fowler and 7.5/year? Seth Jones and 9.5/year? Both have similar stats and age the last season. Even by low estimates he's probably cost himself at least $10 million in his career so far.

Matt Murray going on LTIR is such a cap scam. He was perfectly fine (able) to play in the playoffs.

#1 OUCH!!!

#2 What in the heck is San Jose doing?!?!? Why are they trying to sign Tarasenko and Dumba?!?! Why aren’t they bottoming out and trying to get Celebrini? They’re trading EK. Why try on Tarasenko and Dumba? That team makes no sense to me.

Well, if it turns out Grier is not a good GM, this is how we find out about it, right?

Keep half the money and move him at the deadline for a pick.

Boston desperate for C help. Boyd for Forbort or Grzelcyk?

We're Dumba's last choice out of the possible destinations. If he ends up here it's because nothing else came to be. He's waiting and hoping we're not it lol. Not sure I want that in the lockerroom.

Its about money not the destination. he is either a good locker room guy or he is not, BA will have smoked that out. I kind of hope we don't sign him, I like the player but its just a stop gap for a year maybe two. We need the help on D but at this point, I would let the younger guys get the minutes and play. If we were further along and more of a playoff team, then i would sign him, as a vet he helps our playoff success.

It's last choice among acceptable destinations for him. He wants a spot on a contender and is waiting out on the contenders making their other decisions first. Else, he prefers here given the opportunity and ability to re-orient to move him later to a contender as a deadline deal. He's not hemming and hawing over whether he wants to play in Arizona and would sulk if he got here, and furthermore, it's not like this is foreign territory to the team and most of the core players - they've seen a number of guys sign here the past few seasons with the intention of getting moved at the deadline, they know the drill.

It's offseason, the status of the league changes every few weeks unlike in the regular season where arguably it's happening daily so there's more impetus to make the move right away.

Was really hoping to leverage the Bruins situation into acquiring this guy:

But rather than pay for people to take bad contracts, they let good players go for free and replaced them with mediocre players. Bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for them.

Wouldn’t the Bruins rather have Bertuzzi or Hall and have traded us Frederic and Forbort for Boyd and/or pick?
