Apparently he told the Flyers he didn’t want to sign there. Just going by reports on the main boards.

Good but injury prone and Anaheim was dealing from a position of strength. They have Zellweger to fill the small skilled point getting defenseman role. Zellweger, Mintyukov, and Luneau were all defenseman of the year in their respective CHL leagues.I thought drysdale was a good pick?
Seems like non-jets fans have been trying to put him on WPG since forever.
Sounds like Philly got rid of their own version of Dubois early...
It's all ego after Tavares signed an inflated free agent contract.
I don't really blame the players - I'd probably do the exact same thing.
"I'm better than him - you have to pay me more."
Toronto didn't have the foresight to move the player(s) before it became a problem.
I view tocchet as a total disaster... appears I was wrong - they are clickingThe Canucks are really entertaining to watch
Always cheer for the east - they can't beat usUgh, Vancouver vs New York - Tough matchup for the day-to-day president's trophy watchers among us. And Bruins vs Colorado too.

Just this year though, even last year was his career year and he wasn't worth this contract. So do we really think in 36 games his value has gone up by 3 million. I would trade him for several pieces if I were the Leafs GM. They already have their 2 stars in Matthews and Marner (who are both better), move Nylander for 2-3 depth pieces.his stats in recent years are pretty darn close to pasrnak, and panarin. he's on a 120 pt pace this year, i think he gets close to this in UFA. now from the Leafs POV not sure if it's wise.

Chevy?Or traded for Vilardi, Iafallo , Kupari and a 2nd and they would have been the best team in the NHL.![]()
That has been speculated upon, but no idea if there is any truth to it.Tortorella effect

I’m not understanding that contract at all. Seems to be fairly easily $3.0 million a year too much? WTFGotta love sportsnet... comparing Nylander cap hit to other contracts to show its fair value...
The other contracts? Pastrnak, Tavares and huberdeau haha
There were rumors a few years ago when Risto was still in Buffalo that the Jets were talking to them about him in something involving Ehlers. Not sure how true it was.
Speculation on twitter that he is best buds with Kevin Hayes and Hayes poisoned the well for the Flyers with him.
Paying for this year's point projection alone and assuming it carries on each of the 8 years of the contract. Banking on a rising cap? The only guy that really showed up and played well in the playoffs for them last year?I’m not understanding that contract at all. Seems to be fairly easily $3.0 million a year too much? WTF
I actually liked Hayes when he was here, but I've heard enough in the past couple years to get the impression that he might be a real POS.There were rumors a few years ago when Risto was still in Buffalo that the Jets were talking to them about him in something involving Ehlers. I'm no Hayes fan but I really doubt an 18/19 year old kid is best buds with Kevin Hayes.
Both are Boston College Alums
On pace for 120 points, definitely worth it if he can keep it up. I'd be weary of paying a player that much on a breakout contract year though.I’m not understanding that contract at all. Seems to be fairly easily $3.0 million a year too much? WTF
They've gotten good goaltending some of those years with Andersen, Campbell and Samsonov from the looks of it. It's going to be up-and-down between seasons bc that's how it is for most of the league unless you have Helle, Sorokin, Shesterkin, and previous years with Vas or Saros (although both are having down years). The band aid approach hasn't worked for them, pretty sure they won't be trading Nylander so there only option is drafting the best available in the upcoming draft which may take a while to produce if ever or hoping the guy currently backing up Jones, Hildeby pans out. They just seem to have a hard time finding one that works year in year out.
