Maybe not a popular opinion, but I think the Jets are closer to 10 than 1. PDO's running a little hot. Special teams are crap. Let's pump the brakes a bit. Very good team, sure. #1? Whoa, Nelly...
Yeah I'd say we're top 5 but until we can get out special teams respectable we're not the best. That is definitely going to start buying us in the ass. I'm surprised it hasn't already.

One thing that's helping our pk is we're in the top 3rd of the league in fewest minors. That's a product of good structure and being above the puck all the time.

Crazy that we have a media personality on national TV actually trying to justify hitting someone in the head with their stick.
We all know if hartman did this same thing to Nylander that SN would crucify him

The Zucker hit makes sense for this ridiculous hot take -never heard of anyone.connected with the NHL advocating for headhunters stars

It's easier to avoid taking penalties when you have the puck more often.

Plus we traded away PLD, who was taking 1:03 PIM/GP. And Wheeler was the 5th most penalized on the team last year. Replacing them with Iafalo (0:03 PIM/GP!) and Villardi (0:20 PIM/GP) doesn't hurt...

Watch Kaprizov closely when he plays, he gets exactly what he deserves.
He’s a rat pure and simple.
Live by the sword…

He actually had to get strong elevation to elbow Logan Stanley's chin that one time. Impressive. I like how Michael Russo is doing the Outrage Olympics on Twitter. Bitch, you're a sports journalist, quit playing parley for the team.

How did Jamal Meyers make the NHL without understanding the code?

Also that was a good one about "What if these two teams meet in the playoffs?" What year did he mean?

Best I can guess Mayers might not have been aware of the two fights after the cross check with Dillon accepting a fight to answer the bell.

Remember a few years back when Malkin delivered a head shot to Wheeler and Blake needed to miss a few games with a concussion (If memory serves me correctly). Next time the teams met Blake challenged Malkin, Gino answered the bell, they had a fight and it was done.

That is how the NHL works and Mayers would be aware of that.

His job is to be informed about what he is commenting on, which he is obviously not. I realize that media always platforms a "both sides" debate for audiences; however, his take is absolutely awful and he deserves to be launched into the sun for subjecting me to that nonsense.

This exactly.
Jamal and guys like him are the heir apparents to Parros, scary thought.
So now the Jets will likely dress Viel for the rematch or at the very least retaliate.
The Jets answered the bell already and Hartman has escalated this into a future outta control situation.
The league and the NHLPA ARE BOTH DELUSIONAL

Pretty sure he also holds a bunch of big titles with the Professional Hockey Writer's Association. The org that votes on major awards that have financial implications for players and they're expected to be impartial. I wonder if he and Jamal Mayers shop for clown shoes at the same place?

Wonder if their clown cars get the same mileage?

It was an awkward exchange. Once Mayers got passionately called out by Botterill he seemed to take it in a weird direction trying to justify the cheap shot. It was no longer about retribution for Kaprizov it was about Hartman having Fetts in his hip pocket in the playoffs and how the playoffs are nasty. This had absolutely zero to do with an imaginary unlikely playoff battle that might happen 4 or 5 months from now FFS

It's the special teams for me. If the special teams improve, I am ready to call them a top-3 team in the league. Special teams are the only thing holding me back at this point.

So I played hockey where you had to answer for any kind of shit you did. I don't think I have ever seen anyone say I am going to stick you in the face for something that happened in the game. Why the hell he wouldn't say I am going to drop my gloves and beat on you is beyond me, likely its because he doesn't have the balls to do so.

Being a guy who used to fight a lot I would be f***ing mad at a guy like Hartman knowing I would be out there answering for his bullshit.

I am sorry Kaprisov got hurt. You don't want to see stars get hurt but I have been saying for awhile now having a guy like Hartman not answer for his bullshit means players are not going to go easy on anyone else on your team.
