Pretty much guaranteed now. He will turn 36 in August and has 1 year left on his old contract and now a 2 year extension on top of that. That will take him to 39 and he already has his cups so no need trying to chase them elsewhere at the end of his career.

Just realized that the Blackhawks drafted an overager goalie out of the NAHL this year. Not necessarily a bad idea, but why do it early in round 2 in the draft? Gotta think it was mostly off of his 4 games in the WJC, and that makes it even weirder. How many times have we seen a smaller hockey nation goalie do great in that tournament only to fade away afterward?

I was over this prospect when I heard that he was only going to talk to a select few teams pre-draft trying to angle for specific teams. Imagine how high maintenance this guy is gonna be when he is trying to pick his team before he is even drafted!

UFAs pick their teams, we've had RFAs with a year left on their contract trying to dictate the team they're gonna play on. But imagine the audacity to dictate where you want to play before you are even drafted!

I wish the Flyers the best, even if he was willing to be drafted by them, with that kind of attitude there's gonna be nothing but drama with all aspects of being an NHL player.
