What a bizarre move for the Wild. They get an extra chance to snag a good prospect but I don't know... Kaprizov, Fiala, Boldy and Rossi are really good pieces to build around. I'm not sure the direction they go in due to those ridiculous buyouts, 12.7 in dead space this coming season, 14.7 the next 2 seasons and 1.6 the following 3 seasons. Fiala and Kaprizov are young enough that when the big chunk of dead cap is gone they should still be in their prime... just a strange move. Plenty of pieces on that roster they could shed to afford him. Why lose a player like that when you have a 34 year old Zucc eating 6 million.. that's the majority of Fiala's money right there. Incredible trade for LA
Gardiner MacDougall looks like an NHL coach.....great pedigree in that family as his sister was an Olympian. It brings me no pleasure to report this, but William Dufour looks like a player.
Idk man I just don't see it.. at least in our case we had Panarin, Kreider, Laf, Kakko and Kravtsov. It seems like Guerin is just rationalizing a poor decision. Don't get me wrong, maybe they grab a star with that pick and Faber becomes a stud, then all is forgotten. I just don't see the logic here, that team is completely handcuffed for the next 3 years. I don't care how slick a GM may be, they have almost no ability to put together a contender until that deadspace is gone. So what's the point then? Zucc is almost 35 and only makes 1.875mill less than what Fiala got paid. Fiala is a star, if I'm a Wild fan I'd rather lock in my young core pieces, shed noncore players and wait for that deadcap to drop. He'd be a solid veteran there by then. I just don't get the direction there, what else are they doing with that money? How competitive can they actually be with that deadcap?? If I'm a Wild fan I'd be pissed at what Guerin said, we would've had to trade a few guys so it just didn't work... you mean you traded away a star winger because you would've had to trade Zuccarello or Marcus Filigno? Brutal. Like you said, it could work out for both sides it's just a giant risk for Minnesota.. if that pick doesn't hit big its unbelievably short sighted. It was a Buchnevich situation for them. Sacrificing a core piece they don’t want to move but need to for the greater good. Return seems light for an 80+ point player but a 1st & a good defense prospect, who is also a local kid, is very valuable to a team in MIN’s cap situation.
LA is going to be very good very soon, especially if Quick finds a second wind.
Both teams win the trade imo
He does physically look like an NHL coach. His body of work does not resemble an NHL coach tough.Gardiner MacDougall looks like an NHL coach.....great pedigree in that family as his sister was an Olympian.
Has the Rangers picking the better Jack Hughes in the 2nd.Pronman just published his 7 round mock. He has Wright falling to 4th OA to Seattle.
NHL Mock Draft 2022: From 1 to 225, Corey Pronman projects all seven rounds
I don’t get it either. Perhaps this was a move to placate Kaprizov? He and Zucc are buddies and form a great, entertaining line. The move seems more business than hockey you me. That's what I'm thinking. Plus stories about Fiala don't paint him as all that likeable, so maybe that was part of it as well.I don’t get it either. Perhaps this was a move to placate Kaprizov? Tom Watt 9 CIAU hockey championships before he became an NHL coach . Re: Gardiner MacDougall Saint John NB Memorial Cup winning coach for those tuning in.He does physically look like an NHL coach. His body of work does not resemble an NHL coach tough.
waiting, hoping for BOS to hire Quinn. That should end their core.
Yesterday it was Quinn, today it's Montgomery.
That old footage is so late 90s...especially the graphics with the mixed fonts and the handwritten/spray paint style aesthetic that was popular back then. I miss that style of presentation to be honest.
Pidto was the lead host from 95 to 98.
Wow:
He might have been. I feel like his name was mentioned back then, but can't remember for sure.Wasn't Montgomery NYR's desired choice too before they settled on DQ after Dallas hired him?

If he’s gotten over his issues this is a good hire.
Quinn is horrible
