Is that based on just this year or on a projection to the end of the contract based on the cap would be? I really feel sometimes that these contracts need to evolve from being signed for specific dollars to instead being for percentage of cap so that as the cap increases each players salary increases proportionality with it. I know that will never happen but it would be easier ha

Honestly I don’t know the criteria Dom L bases his model on, but it just doesn’t add up when it says a players market value is 14 million, but the highest paid player in the NHL is making 12.5 million. The market is what it is. Fugazi numbers.

Also he called the Maple Leaves the best team in the NHL this year. Laughable. They don’t even pretend to be objective at the Athletic

"Regular season" starts today with the most boring matchup i can think of Sharks-Perds, can't even watch it either. Oct 11 is just too god damned late for the regular season to really start. Especially with this crazy preseason schedule where we only play 2 games in what, 11 days? Sheesh.
