With all the great beer Chicago has to offer they decide to roll out the Goose Island? Shameful.
My GF works for Delta & has access to the flight manifests for all the charter menus that professional teams supply the players for each flight. Most leagues but especially the NHL players have awful taste in food & alcohol. They eat & drink like college kids. How does that old adage go, Champagne tastes, Beer budgets? Pro athletes live that life in reverse it seems. Chick Fil-A is the preferred meal for the Red Sox, while Coors light, Bud light, Miller Light are the beer choices for 99% of the NHL teams.

Then there's the LA Kings & VGK who don't allow their players to drink on the planes at all. I couldn't believe that's a thing.

Chik-Fil-A is the champagne of food though

Zegras got cranked tonight

I swear the only one in that class of NTDP forwards who knows how to not get killed is Caufield.

You’re going to see more and more of these skill guys take big hits. Trouba shined a light on it last year and it’s an adjustment teams will make to counter the high skill. If you skate with your head down, you are vulnerable to a hard, clean hit. Ask MacKinnon.

In Georgie's defense, Avs iced a dumpster of a lineup. The "best" player they had was probably our old buddy Sedlak ffs

When a team is holding a lead, play three defensemen. Football teams use a holding midfielder.

I've often pondered what kinds of different combinations we might see if the NHL went to 4 on 4 permanently.

But with the 3-2 formation... I mean it's been that way for almost the entire modern history of the sport. I'd be surprised if this gains any traction.

Isles just signed Barzal to 9.1M for 8 years

BRUTAL.

All incentive for him to even try this season to earn a big contract is gone too. Love it. Thanks Lou!

Eh I think the Barzal contract is pretty good.

His value is really in his ability to be a one man transition machine which wont really reflect in his point total because he isn't really surrounded by good finishers and he also tends to hang onto the puck for way too long. But make no mistake, hes about as good as it gets when it comes to carrying the mail and thats an insanely valuable skill to have.

At the very least, his contract will be something that another team will happily trade value for in a few years when he ends up asking for a trade/Lou's inevitable replacement decides to rebuild.

Just don't see it. Rookie year was a fluke. Sure he's a 1st line center, but at 9.1? He has that flash of skills every so often but I feel like I'm never actually worried about him when the Ranger's play the Isles :dunno: And it;'s not like he's some sort of defensive expert either.

this is awesome. Why can’t the Rangers ever do cool videos like this during training camp and whatnot?

This was on NHL Network. Pretty cool insight

Because our version of a heart-warming story is signing reclamation project plugs to league minimum contracts and gifting them top line minutes at the expense of developing potential franchise driving youngsters.

It’s not heart-warming Hollywood stories. It’s Greek tragedies.
