If it happens I hope it's against the Leafs!
The Leafs will sign Chris Pronger to put an end to the shenanigans!

They need to refine the prompts. The crybaby factor is exquisite, but they completely missed the arrogance.Looks like AI art. Best AI art I have ever seen.
I do the sameOne of my guilty pleasures is to go into other teams' GDTs if we win the game. Not to write, just to read. It's fun, you should try it.
I did that when we beat the Leafs last time, but I couldn't finish that thread. It was just too depressing to read.
The entertainment value around this is pretty much off the charts. People are melting down and everyone thinks their view is the moral high ground.Late on this one here...but all my friends are either Leafs, Sens, or Habs fans so this has been rather entertaining for me for several days now lol.
I have no problem with what Ridly Greig did. He scored an empty net goal, IDGAF how. Rielly's response was stupid and flat out bad. At first I thought 3 or so games would be good, but after seeing all of the statements from other Leafs players and Keefe where they paint themselves as persecuted victims, in addition to all of the petulant whining from their fanbase, I just wanna see the league throw the book at him now.
Here's an idea, Toronto: Don't want opponents to score flamboyant empty net goals? Win the f***ing hockey game..

That’s why I also have no problem with what Greig did. I think it was hilarious, high level trolling and completely non violent. But at the same time it gets peoples blood boiling (fans and players alike). It’s good for the game.
Even if Reilly didn’t try to take his head off. It would have created anticipation for the next matchup. Will someone try and fight him? Will the fans boo every time he touches the puck? Will the Leafs try and run up the score if they get a chance?

Always fine to read, guys, but yeah…be sure not to write.I do the same![]()
I like to do this primarily when a call is 50-50. Or even just to see if they acknowledge it when game management is biasing their team. Might sound oversimplified but the more responses I see that sound like, "I'll take the call but I'd be pissed if I were a Wings fan" or vice versa the less annoyed I seem to be towards that fan base. One of my guilty pleasures is to go into other teams' GDTs if we win the game. I would bet my life savings two of them are Toronto and Chicago. Call it.... intuitionSame here, not every team but I'd say around 5-8 teams I will read if we play.

And here's the missing arrogance. They need to refine the prompts. The crybaby factor is exquisite, but they completely missed the arrogance.
Didn't Walman appeal? And then Gary made a decision on the appeal after his 6-game suspension was already complete? And here's the missing arrogance.

Toronto Maple Leafs D Morgan Rielly to appeal suspension to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman | TSN
Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly will appeal his five-game suspension to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, the team announced Wednesday.www.tsn.ca
There's video evidence of him charging across the ice and cross checking a guy in the head, in response to the oh-so-dangerous... empty net showboating. Not sure what grounds he will be using to appeal.
Other than the, "Do you know what team I play for? We're literally the center of the hockey universe."
Assuming he did, I also think that's dumb. But if he used the grounds that he thought he was retaliating against the player who just injured Larkin, that ranks lower on the Dumb-O-Meter than Reilly trying to justify his actions.Didn't Walman appeal? And then Gary made a decision on the appeal after his 6-game suspension was already complete?
I agree it would rank lower. But I can't really blame guys for appealing these things. It's money and games at stake for them. On a small scale, it's their career being affected. If they feel they have any chance to win an appeal, I'd expect them to go for it. It's not arrogance so much as it is not wanting to lose out over something they can't change, whether they regret their actions or not.Assuming he did, I also think that's dumb. But if he used the grounds that he thought he was retaliating against the player who just injured Larkin, that ranks lower on the Dumb-O-Meter than Reilly trying to justify his actions.

I guess I just have a different frame of reference then. I would've been fine with Perron getting suspended for MUCH longer than 6 games. There is absolutely no set of circumstances that I think makes it ok to use your stick to forcibly contact a player's head or neck.Perron appealed. Bettman didn't respond to the appeal until after Perron had already sat for 6 games and then denied it anyway.
I think it's worth appealing just to show what a farce the process is. And there's the minuscule chance they may get some money back.
