Parise is fine to add as depth, similar to Spezza in Toronto. Can sub into a number of roles. He's not good enough to be a regular on a scoring line, but he can slide into that role if needed. Chara brings the muscle on the backend we want. Both are just role players at this stage but bring experience and would come at likely a low cost if they wanted to come here.

2003 Parise was my favorite and just waiting to be taken. Too bad Taylor and Co didn't have the balls to try and move up and take him. They just couldn't pass up a 6-8" hs prospect. The fact the NJ did it with the 30th pick, just after winning the cup show how bad Taylor was in that draft. #timeout

It was the 22nd overall pick that NJ sent in the deal to get the Parise pick.

Parise has said he wants to stay in NYI and re-sign, he's not really done much at all this year same with Chara. Pass on both.

Toronto looks to be making moves in preparation to tomorrow’s TDL. If they swing for the fences, could there be any opportunities for Blake to pick up something from them if they’re shedding salary? Just wondering.

Sorry to see we didn’t pick up Deslauriers. I’m tired of seeing our players get pushed around every game. I know Pepe plays that role, but it could come in handle in the playoffs. And he is good on PK. Oh well, let’s see how this plays out tomorrow.

You say they haven't shown they are capable of making.....I say, they haven't been in a situation yet to make....so we don't know.
Perhaps.…I just think that elusive scorer and top-pairing LHD the Kings desperately need may be well within reach without blowing their wad of prospects. Time will tell.

He was a King at one point, was he not?. Not sure where he'd fit if when healthy, we cant even make room for the kids.

Yeah, my bad. They used 22nd and pick 68. we had picks 26, 27, and 44. You're telling me we couldn't have moved up by trading one plus another like they did? I pretty sure Al Murray thought he was too small.

Well the next 2 nights are pretty massive in the playoff race.

Edmonton (@ Col, @ Dal) and Vegas (@ Min, @ Wpg) are both playing back to backs on the road while the Kings play Nashville at home on Tuesday.

Things could be really good at the end of Tuesday but they could also be really bad. Have to hope Edmonton/Dallas isn't a 3 pointer.

2005-2010 NJD Zach Parise was one of my fav's.

I think if he didn't waste his career away in Minnesota he could've had some REALLY good seasons.
I really thought Parise was going to sign with the Kings after 1st Cup in 2012. Kings had the cap room and he would have been an excellent addition. I didn't do my homework and realize he was from MN.

With where we are all positioned--I'd call the Kings falling out a choke. This is the easier portion of their schedule vs. the others. The Oilers and Golden Knights really have to earn it.

Lindholm got a good haul back, but that extension they signed him to was exceptional. It's going to be rough near the end but they are going to have quite the D for a while there.

Same, Lauzon or Soucy. Seems like they're gonna keep Soucy as part of their long term plans. Not a bad move. He's basically this year's Edmundson.
They have to keep somebody. They're gonna run out of NHL/AHL level defensemen to put on the ice at this rate. I still think Soucy is the right acquisition for the Kings, but maybe it'll wait until the offseason.

I would've easily paid that.

Bummer.
I would not have. He's physical but other than that, just not very good. I think it's a high price the Preds paid even given the current prices we are seeing. Never liked him when I saw him with the B's. He was more sheltered there. If we are just looking for physicality alone on the back end, I would have rather dumpster dived for a guy like Beaulieu and he's fuggin brutal.
