Yeah, he's getting paid. So is Kadri.
I still can’t decide if Kadri’s miracle season is a result of being on the right team at the right time or him driving the bus. Don’t get me wrong. He is a very good player, but I just wouldn’t be surprised if this season is an outlier.

Man, I thought Tampa had it in the bag after the dismantled the Panthers, but this is why you play the games.

Colorado has been one of the best teams in the league for a few years now. They deserve it.

Still gotta win one more, though.
If they win game 5 they will have gone 16-3, which is absolutely bonkers.

Wouldn’t mind if Blake signed Nuke.

Going to be expensive.
They should have been in on him right after he soured in Dallas. They need to find the next guy like that to sign cheap and let grow into his prime with the next wave. Guys that may leave their teams like Kakko, Necas, Zadina… Vilardi could be that guy for another team.
Blake could get creative if he doesnt wanna pay for a big fish.

Kadri is great plus clutch for 2 more years tops. He makes sense for a team looking to take the next step and go on some deep runs to the finals.

I think he ends up in Fla or the Rangers.

I want them to lose one more to be tied with our 2012 record of 16-4.

He tried that with Lias Andersson.

Yea I liked that move. I think he got injured in preseason and rushed back. I also saw him get hit at a home game vs the Blues so hard you could hear it. It happened right in front of me. He didnt even fall down but he had a look on his face like he didnt know where he was. That may have been his first game back from injury but I cant remember fully. He never got going but I think it was a nice try with that move.

Its ok to miss on moves also. Colorado also tried with Yakupov. And some later picks like Nieto and Andrighetto. Hitting the bargain bin for some skill aint a crime.

Kakko would be an interesting plan B. Offer sheet him at 4 million plus costing Blake assets, and the Rags would probably let him go but that’s a lot for an unproven guy.

Still, there’s something about Nuke having the it factor in important games. Justin Williams wasn’t flashy or racked up points on the stat sheet but he showed up when you needed him, always in the right spot.

Id love it if the could get him here. Colorado should really try to make room for him. Hes also in a good situation there and probably would like to stay. But I agree hed be a great addition here.

Nichushkin is a nope from me. Love his game & what he's doing, but is 27 & broken 30 points two times in his career. In the 6 ish range I'd rather have someone with more of a track record.

A decent player, but the contract will probably be worse than Danault's, since Nichushkin has likely already had his career best season, so that's what will be paid for. The guy had 10 goals last year.

How likely was it that Danault would do what he did this year? And we all already know he's going to regress. You're not buying low on Nichushkin the way the Avs did. Not getting that same bargain. Do you trust him enough for this season/playoff not to be the peak of his career?

I think it's repeatable. He's always been pretty elite defensively, so I'd like him as a middle 6 upgrade over Iafallo, who I would then deal for pick(s). Improves the Kings' size, speed, and skill in that role.

You're right on cost, it might be prohibitive. But I do really like the player.

The worst thing for a GM is watching Nuke right now and ignoring his scoring history. He's the exact same player he's always been, just on an offensive powerhouse. Please stay far the f*** away from that inevitable poison pill contract.

Unless you truly believe that Josi is a yearly 96 point player, Duchene 86, Kadri 87, Fiala and Forsberg 85....hell Joe Pavelski got 81 points, should we grab him too?

THis smoke and mirrors season is gonna lead to a wave of buyout contracts.

I like the player too, really impressive in these playoffs. Very similar to Danault in terms of regular season stats and being defensively sound. Improves the Kings size without sacrificing speed, skill and more importantly assets.

With Nuke, I think it’s about length of contract because you want to maintain flexibility down the road.
