Funny, there's a post on the Panthers board saying Duclair was put on the 4th line last year in the playoffs because he's too soft. 30g, 60pts, doesn't matter. Have to be hard come playoff time.

We hated Dwight King. At least in his first 6 games. Then in his second chance, we loved him. Then eventually hated him again, after they stopped winning, as a prime example of the non-scoring talent the Kings were loaded with. But he was hard come playoff time. For a couple years. Then it stopped.

Another post on the Panthers board, talking about Barkov. Great player, not leading the way, losing board battles. Substitute Kopitar for Barkov in that entire paragraph, and you wouldn't know there was a difference. And that's an 8 year younger Barkov who hasn't won a damn thing.

DL knew he didn't have enough in Kopitar. Or Brown. That's why he got all those other real leaders. However, I also don't know if DL picks Kopitar at #11 if he's here in 2005. Marc Staal was right there. Solid Canadian kid. D-man. I don't know that DL doesn't pick him instead.

David Poile has had two GM jobs for about 40 consecutive years, never having won the Cup. Been in Nashville for a quarter of a century, got out of the 2nd rd once. You think the Kings are a no accountability franchise, just look over at Nashville.

Its really unfortunate. Worst playoff I think in my lifetime. They are ruining the games calling it like preseason.
The playoffs have always been different no shootout, OT 20 min periods.. and there was always more leeway with penalties - which is what we want as fans. Its already brutal how much linesman dominate the faceoff circle, now we have tick tack calls in the playoffs. That is away from what real hocky fans want and what is good for the sport. Whoever in the NHL is behind this change in approach is an idiot.

I had bobrovsky in fantasy hockey - and i was noticing bob was giving up 3 and 4 goals pretty often.. but i was still getting wins. It looks like their style isnt translating well in the post season so far.

Outside Ekblad their defense isnt very good. Gudas and Chiarot are beatable. Guys like Forsling, Weeger and Montour move the puck well but are prone to mistakes. These 3 are like Durzi a couple years from now if the shine wears off.

Colorado blowing the doors off Nashville. Looking like a sweep will happen.

Yeah, losing Saros really hurt. They likely would have still lost, but going from Saros to a young goalie who had only started 3 game prior is tough. Ingram has actually been decent, but Saros may have been able to steal a game or two.

Stars up 2-1 against the Flames. When our season ends on Tuesday I'm hoping the Flames go down in.....Flames as well. Go Stars. That would be just epic.

This is the year of the blowout. Really good teams are getting smoked, so our last lost doesn't sting as much. Calgary only scoring 4 goals in 3 games is probably the biggest surprise. Johnny hockey can't find any room out there.

With 35 year old Trevor Lewis scoring one of them. Sutter hockey.

I wouldn't give a shit about the blowouts in a normal year, but double that in this one.

When you have the league leading teams losing big, a few goals against at the end of a loss when everyone is floating is whatever.

Sure we want to show some fight etc. but when its happening to the Panthers, Lightning, Leafs, and really just about everyone, is it really a problem with the Kings in particular when they lose big?

It's a 2-1 series right now, no scores matter. If anything, hopefully the big boys are rested.

At least the Kings aren't the Hurricanes.

A few people on the Canes board starting to go after Aho.

First round blowout games continue:

3-0 for lightening in the first. On seven total shots.

Hope we can catch some blowout luck later, instead of Edmonton hogging it all.
