I also did not expect Paul Maurice and Trotz to be available.

I'm not calling for McLellan to be fired (as much as I criticize him).

But Trotz is, in my opinion, one of the best and deservedly well-respected coaches for as long as I can remember.

I have a feeling Trotz will be coaching Vegas next season.

Winnipeg is cleaning house I think. He could end up there too. He won't be coming to the Kings. TM is here until his contract runs out or the Kings completely collapse.

Actually feel for the Panther fans. All that buzz this year. People showed up. They're capped out before the summer starts. Now Barkov, who they're starting to rip a bit, will be at $10m, seemingly before he wins anything. Bob's a year older.

I'm fine with defense-first hockey.

Players liking a system is a bonus, but not required.

The Kings are already underachieving at developing goal-scorers. So why wouldn't I want a coach who can turn it into a winning formula?
