I'm fine with defense-first hockey.

Players liking a system is a bonus, but not required.

The Kings are already underachieving at developing goal-scorers. So why wouldn't I want a coach who can turn it into a winning formula?

Looking around.....99 points.....3rd in the Pacific.....yea no winning formula here......f***ing eh....

99 points without your #1 dman for half the season and not a single player on the roster exceeding 67 points the entire season. Yah, we need a coach who can get some wins out of these guys….

A good ol' David Poile team. 96pt defenseman, two 40g scorers, Granlund and Johansen don't sleep walk through the season, and they still manage to find a way to finish behind this Kings team, and then blow a lead against the Coyotes to get the Avs in the 1st rd.

Somehow Poile will be their GM for the next 20 years though, if he chooses to do so.

Is Saros going to be the poster child for resting your players once you clinch. I doubt it would have made a difference against the Avs, maybe they go out in 5 instead of 4.

Sutter wasn't wrong in his prognostication about whomever got the Aves in the first round.

I get that's Sutter attempting a mind game, but this isn't a Kings/Ducks situation where the teams are sort of even, and maybe you can mess around with a 20 year old goalie. The Avs clearly outclass everyone else. At least in the West.

bdub24 : I’m remembering some kind of anger or frustration he let out when Arvy was let go and Jarnkrok. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him with the Kings.

Predsanddead24 : Kings really make a lot of sense if they can make the dollars work. Especially if he is concerned about his fiancee's music career because that is one of the few other markets that would be as good for her as him. Anaheim would work on that front too and has plenty of cap space too if you really want to feel horrible about where he might end up.

Flip them Iafallo for his rights, give him anything he wants.

Not sure why I've been shitting on Iafallo so much lol. He's played his contract average since being extended. He's also been more productive in this post season vs his first post season. Forsberg probably looking for at least 8. I wonder if 9x5 would be enough for him to play with Viktor for two years. Imagine our power play if it was Danault, Arvy, Filip, Moore, Doughty. That has to produce, regardless of who the power play coach is, no?

I would be on board with 9x5. Any longer than 5 years and I would get nervous.

That was my point. Why crap on the 4th line when all the lines above are not showing up. The 4th in Calgary has done what they are expected to do.

Because Toffoli wasn’t brought in to be a fourth line guy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He also was not really on the 4th line. They dressed 11 forwards so the time he spent there was extra shifts.
Either way Calgary's bottom 6 (whomever you want to call it) has been playing really well.
