rumblings of kane to the oilers.

How can the Oilers or any other team sign him, if the NHLPA filed a grievance for his buyout? IF the NHLPA wins the dispute, wouldn't that mean Kane would have 2 NHL contracts?

Also, another Snafu...

Latest On Evander Kane

One of those details could be another league investigation, as Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the league is looking into the incident that caused Kane’s termination in the first place. That is the process of Kane crossing the border into Canada on December 29, eight days after testing positive for COVID-19. San Jose says he did not have proper medical clearance and the NHL is investigating the incident. Friedman believes it will prevent Kane from signing in the short-term, though doesn’t give a timeline on when the investigation will be resolved.

Not that I want to defend Clarke, but it's not inconceivable that the Flyers had Makar #2.

Was listening to Kypreos on Sportsnet radio the other day talking about this and he had mentioned one of the scouts at the time had mentioned they were high on Heiskanen but Hextall pretty much tuned out the staff and had the blinders on with his sole focus on Patrick.

Yeah Elliotte Friedman had a note in his blog yesterday where he was told by another scout that it was Heiskanen and not Makar that the Flyers wanted. Definitely was a fun but odd exercise to get back in the 2017 mindset yesterday when looking up old articles.

Normally I don't respond to tweets, but Greg Wyshynski posted one yesterday with a collection of 27 mock drafts and most didn't have Makar in the top 4. He used that as "proof" that Makar wasn't in the conversation. Had to resist the urge to respond "No, that's just proof you found a bunch of terrible mock drafts that relied on outdated information."

They might set up parameters prior to the hearing. Such as if kane wins, it would be treated as an in season buyout. So full pay for whatever amount of the season he had left and then 2/3. But it is to be determined.

It never seems to end with Kane. Some people just can't stay out of trouble. I previously posted that we couldn't count on Kane not doing something stupid. I admit I thought it wouldn't be this fast though.

Too bad there were not more conditions on the deal based on his performance, because LA did not get enough for what value he has brought to the Pens. At the end of the day better to get something than nothing, but GM needs to maximize return, and I am not sure that happened.

Will be odd seeing him against LA. Was it Iafallo who flew TP to Carter via drown when covid started?

In 20-21, 40 games 8 goals & 11 assists. Just below 0.5 ppg. 2.5 cap hit. Looked uninterested in trying to skate & was actively dragging his line down. Was he replaced at center by Kempe? The Kings got good value for the asset they traded. Really any return would have been good. Getting him off the team was reward enough.

The annoying part is most Kings' fans knew Carter was capable of a lot more & just no longer cared enough to put the effort in here.

Ah yes, Carter was deliberately trying to sabotage his team to accomplish what exactly?

"I think for me, it was just a really easy group to come into," Carter said. "A great group of guys, a fun system to play. I think it's a real upbeat system. It makes you play on your toes and play fast all the time. And then just great players. I think I've been put in positions where it's made it easy for me to go out and play."

I’m happy for Jeff but I think he could have been better the last few years in LA. Guess I can’t blame him for the shit show LA had been those years.

As long as we remember what we were saying about him in those last months.

Pittsburgh has the culture DL wishes he could've built here. And of course elitier elite talent.

No fans allowed in Canada (loooooooooooooooool) so apparently they all went to Arizona to see the Leafs play. Coyotes are an embarrassment, just move them already. Pathetic clown ass landfill loser organization.

The only thing Arizona has going for them are their jersey's.

I would wear one of those religiously. Too bad no one on that team is worth getting a jersey of. :help:

They can't even do a southwest US jersey right. So overwrought and overdone. The logo is fine and I like the cultural influence and colors. Unfortunately it looks like their 4 fans designed their own version and they merged them all together.

Avalanche rookie defenseman Bo Byram leaves team for personal reasons – The Denver Post

Looks like his concussions have derailed his career. So sad. I was excited about any of Dach, Byram, or Turcotte going to LA.
Yeah, I’m gutted for him. He was the one I wanted in that draft and I also knew his old man a little when he played in the UK so had a personal interest in it as well I guess. His dad is a great guy so I’m sure he will be well supported personally. Hopefully the Avs look after him properly (I’m sure they will) and make sure he has the time he needs to recover. You never want to see concussions end anyones careers and it always reminds me of Deadmarsh and the terrible issues he had.

Yeah, he flew a drone almost a block from his house with
it inside a Coleman cooler. Pretty impressive thing when you think about it.
