I'm not sure what happened to Murray. He is only 27 and had a solid start (and 2 Cups) early on , but seemed to struggle after MAF left Pittsburgh. He did have a pretty good year in 2018/19 but not since. And he had COVID, which doesn't help




2 yrs after this one at 6.5M per, not sure what team has extra CAP for him. Sportsnet mentioned that the Sabres (Craig Anderson out injured) or Arizona (rebuilding, and his salary would get them above the CAP floor)

Could be Ottawa wasn't the right fit...

Bergevin wasted that 1st round pick on Mailloux. I am of the opinion that Mailloux might have serious immigration issues - maybe approaching Voynov level serious. And I believe that is why Mailloux really asked not to be drafted. He didn't want those issues coming out and his statements of wanting to take time to work on himself was a way of saving face and keeping it secret that he would not be allowed into the US. Had Mailloux not been drafted, the year off would give him time to fix the immigration issues.

His OHL team does play a couple road games with US teams after his suspension is up. So we'll see if he makes the trip into the US with them.

Yeah, MTL did some serious house cleaning. Overachieving in the playoffs, super high expectation this year, only to be really bad 25 games in got him the boot.
