If he was drafted by the kings hed be on the reign for 2 years before he got a game

So true....Look at Turcotte. He was 5 times the player Caufield was at this last WJC and Caufield is playing 17 minutes on the Habs. Turcotte, back to the Reign.
Team USA does not win Gold, without Turcotte and still (would have) wins gold, without Caufield. Alex is the better hockey player, then and now.

I just hope the last 3 Kings 1st round picks match or beat the Ducks last 3. Damn Ducks.

Turcotte, Byfield, Clarke

vs

Zegras, Drysdale, McTavish.

Too bad that the Kings still don't have one of them opening night and the Ducks have all 3 of their picks
This has not even begun and I am not deterred. Byfield will be the best of all 6. I think Clarke will
be as good or better than Drysdale. And Turcotte a better, overall player than McTavish.

Not that Turcotte had a bad camp, but it doesn't sound like he wowed anyone either. So he went down. Isn't that the whole point of camp? Besides, we have a deeper forward core than Anaheim.

So you’d rather have Lizotte playing over Turcotte? Surely he had a better camp than Lizotte, did Lizotte even play in the preseason?

He got one game. Had a rocky start getting his feet wet but by the end of the game he was great. Most of the forwards had a worse camp than he did.

I know this has been explained repeatedly around here, but it's not about replacing a player for a player, it's about roles. Would I rather Turcotte than Lizotte? Yeah. I'd rather almost everyone in the league over Lizotte. Would I rather Turcotte be playing maybe 10 minutes a night and otherwise riding the bench the rest of the time like Lizotte would be? No. I wouldn't.

But you’re ok with Kaliyev on the 4th line?

Bjornfot played in the NHL at 18, NHL regular at 19.
Byfield played in the NHL at 18, likely NHL regular at 19 following injury
Kaliyev played in the NHL at 19, made team out of camp at 20 (as a 2nd rounder)
JAD played in the NHL at 19 (as a 2nd round pick)
Anderson played in the NHL at 20, NHL regular at 21 (as mid round pick)
Vilardi played in the NHL at 20 and NHL regular at 21 (missed his entire 19 year)

Where do we get the idea that the Kings slow-play? If prospects warrant it they have usually been up. The one exception I guess is Byfield last year not being in the NHL as a 2 OA pick, but they have the AHL option which changed things.

What would you think about turcotte over kempe or iafallo? Should he be given a shot to take a top six spot playing next to kopitar or danault? He was a top 5 pick i think its time.
Hendrix lapierre had a goal tonight cause oshie set him up. I would love to see the kings prospects get a chance like that.

Turcotte had injury issues and was dealing with those, don't forget. Otherwise, he'd be a bit further ahead and would probably be seeing some time in the big leagues.

Vilardi Bjornfot and Anderson got called up and it led to a winning streak a couple seasons ago before covid if i recall and for a while last season the record with bjornfot in the lineup was a lot better than without him. I love when they bring new energy into the lineup.
JAD looked great last year and now they sent him down. Its a move i dont understand.
Kaliyev wouldnt make the team if AA wasnt out and andersson didnt get hurt.
I think Byfield is ready when he gets healthy and wonder what players hes on a line with.
Lots of guys should get a shot this year and Im excited to see it play out.

Looks like a number of the '19, '20' '21 1st rounders are going to make their respected teams, or already in the NHL. Funny thing is many of them are joining very good rosters yet only Byfield made it on a roster with arguably the worst forward group in the league. Not saying play them all but surely at least 2 of the kids are worthy of at least making the opening day roster.

He did, though. The staff's praise was absolutely effusive and if not for Byfield you probably would have seen a lot more focus on it.

I'm pretty sure it was Yanetti but whoever it was practically wouldn't shut up about how perfect a player he is.

Mason Mctavish is awesome and also cracked a shallow forward lineup. Would you rather have Turcotte working on his offense at 3C/W on the Kings, or at 1C on the Reign?

The question certainly isn't his all around ability it's his offensive ceiling so keep that in mind when you slot him in. A guy like Mctavish gets AUTOMATIC top-six minutes on the Ducks. Turcotte doesn't--and it's not because of ability.
