Colin Miller sucks, he had exactly one good NHL year because he had literally the softest minutes in the NHL, there's no way he'd get used like that here

To be fair, his first pick was 43rd overall and they did grab Cernak with that pick. The problem wasn't the draft itself but the fact they then traded him away for a few games of Ben Bishop in a trade that made no sense then or now.

Someone mentioned Voynov as well. Imagine this team but with Cernak and Voynov in the line up. It could be a much different scenario.
Wow why are people still reminiscing about what could have been with Voynov still around? What has it been, six years? Let it go.

Lucas Raymond was 100% my choice had the Kings not jumped up in the draft. I liked him better than Stutzle.

I had him competing with Stutzle at least but not over--but we wouldn't have landed him anyways unfortunately with the Wings jumping in. I saw a couple darkhorsing him at #2. Crazy how much has happened with the top of that draft since draft day.

TS is having some serious sophomore issues right now, Laf isn't faring much better

Hell I wouldn't rule out Turcotte on being one of the most impactful draft choices from 2019 yet either.

Yeah, did not have Calgary as good as they've been. Markstrom has been a brick wall though. Also 2 guys scoring at 50g paces, and another at 40.

Every year 3-6 teams make the playoffs that did not make it the prior season. I just didn't expect some of the teams to drop or do as well as they have so far.

Yeah, they had him rated so low on the depth chart , when in reality, he was the best of the lot.Tampa was floored when they were able to get him in that deal. None of the guys ahead of him , except Miller who DL traded the next year in another bad deal, are doing anything right now.

Feels like Vegas is gonna dig a hole they won't recover from when guys return.

They're not exactly spring chickens either
And if you look DeBoer's coaching history, his teams are usually good for his first season or two, then fall apart. This will be his third season in Vegas.

Sutter still doesn't get the respect he deserves. Such a great coach.

Looking at Anaheim's roster, I actually think they might be pretty good. They've got a lot of up and coming players and established vets that are producing.

The 30ish year-old play drop off is very real. It's not a big deal if its a guy here and there, but when it's a big chunk of your roster it has a big effect. Couple that with a couple big injuries and this is the result.

They can make Eichel work cap-wise without too much pain, but they are going to look much different a couple of seasons from now.
