I have to say that Sutter deserves some props for turning the Flames around to the start they've had. While his time was up in LA, there are times where I still wish this team had his kick-in-the-butt coaching style. I bet he leans on Trevor Lewis quite a bit at least

i think fox is one of those guys that's worth it, but yeah big contracts for high scoring defensemen seem risky after recent history

i think his D is good enough that he'll play it out without too many problems given his age

Yeah the folks who were leaning on Caufield as an example of drafting and development and executing Turcotte because he wasn't in the NHL yet are 100% predictably quiet.

I'm not here to rag on anyone for it, god knows i'm wrong probably more than anyone here but I'll always at least eat it when I am.

Lafreniere will need a new contract in 2023-2024. So they basically have this year and will be in cap hell in 2022-2023. 15 signed with $10.6 million in space.

Habs lost a lot of players that allowed Caufield to slot in at a position to succeed. Because of that he's trying to do too much and he's in over his head. If Montreal had Kopitar and Danault, he wouldn't be going down to the AHL.

Bettman needs to understand not just the moral aspect of this, but the optics as well.

I guess the "context" Bettman is referring to is that ownership was unaware (supposedly).

In my view, it was a hockey decision to not report/fire Aldrich, so there should be a hockey penalty to the organization as well. They should have a 1st round pick confiscated IMO. As well as the largest fine in league history (which wouldn't even be that much).

The argument they were saying on the 32 thoughts is that the Blackhawks are going to have to pay large amounts in legal settlements, that will out weigh this fine.

Yeah I was off the get Eichel train but for what buffalo got for him Kempe=tuch, kupari=Krebs, 22 1st and our 3rd. I'd do that in a heartbeat. Plus our first this year will be better then the Knights. Sabres are the worst run franchise in sports. Talk about Ryan O'Reilly all over again.
