I'm glad for Eichel that he is getting the surgery he wants, his body. I'm glad for the NHL to have an entertaining player back. It sucks as a fan of the game that it took this long for the surgery.

I think he will be much happier with a new team, it has to be hard playing as good as he does and having a team that is a pereniel bottom feeder.

He's an exciting player to watch and deserves a great team and leadership aroundhim.

I hope Calgary gets him so that a McDavid vs Eichel feud can happen.

It'll be interesting to see what happens at the trade deadline if Eichel comes back in December and just lights it up down the stretch. We could see some monster offers given that it'll be a prorated cap hit and at least some teams will have bad luck with top 6 players on LTIR.

The Devils mention is intriguing. You have to think that cap-wise they're better off sticking with Hischier and Hughes, but then again, Hischier is already making big money, and it's not a valid argument to say that Eichel is worth the extra $2.75M per year.

Brad Richardson playing for Sutter again? Wasn't Sutter not pleased with that rink wide sweet backhand sauce pass Richardson pulled off years ago? Still stokee for him & Lewis!

TO swapping Reilly for PK would be hilarious. Leafs would have a shot from the point then.

or maybe he has medical reasons? f***in weird how giddy some of you guys get over bad things happening to people who don't see everything in the same black or white that you do

Don't you think if it was due to medical reasons, we'd see a different outcome? Sounds like that could be a nice potential lawsuit if you ask me....

Just speaking for myself, it's not about being 'giddy'... more like just over the frustration of why people can't do the right thing.

Choosing not to receive the vaccination should be grounds for termination in EVERY job.

That is how serious this pandemic is, it trumps all individual decisions or liberties, especially those who willingly choose to prolong and worsen the global health and economic crisis by asserting their willful neglect of common sense, decency and position in a community that relies on mass immunity in order to stop the continual mutations.

Man... that’s a seriously hot take ya got there.

Wow communism has found its way to the NHL.
Oh, I am massively exaggerating here for shits and giggles, but the truth of the matter is that we will never leave this quagmire until people realize that public health is not a personal choice and that vaccines have nothing to do with "freedom".

Imagine thinking your freedom is under attack because of a proven vaccine that is saving millions of people all over the world.

With freedom comes responsibility. If you show you're incapable of that responsibility, someone will make the decisions for you.

This isn't even about 'freedom', this is simply a private business exercising its right to protect its profits. In this context more than any other, freedom is a social contract, not freedom from consequences to do whatever the hell I want.

Some businesses won't subscribe to this--see Grant Cardone, for example--but the NHL has made the decision that as a public-facing business with high interpersonal and public interaction across state and international borders that it's in their best interests to minimize possible Covid knockouts of games and events. Full stop. Like it or not like it that's up to you, but you're not going to change the NHLs mind, so going after other posters in this thread will not be tolerated.

Get back on topic or get threadbanned. Semantic 'freedom' discussions didn't work in the Covid thread and they won't at all work here.
