What veteran core? They just traded everyone not named Towes and Kane, and Kane didn’t even seem like he was being a bitch about it.
It came out a little before last season I believe. I didn't mention Kane, but Keith and Toews were unhappy about it. Also, Kane has two years left so they are putting all their cards in.

Yeah I know, just find it ironic considering they traded away everyone that was bitching except Towes. Seems like a weird move but I guess they are the anti-Vegas. Instead of stabbing their long time face of the franchise in the back for the betterment of the team, they’re folding to him to the long term detriment of the organization.

Honestly, it would be hard to trade his contract and considering that he took a season off for whatever reason, you don't know if he'll be in game shape.

If Baldy is thinking of going to Edmonton, he better go grab a Russian hat off Bob Saccamano to cover his dome from the brutally cold Edmonton winter.

I think Jones moves the needle some and Johnson is a decent player who will probably thrive in an expanded role, but yeah Jones alone != prime Seabrook, Keith and Hjalmarsson.

Before all the analytics were posted I thought he was a pretty solid player and I actually don’t think his contract is that bad given his age and what others are getting paid. HOWEVER their defense was horrible last year. Even if Seth Jones increases it 3-5 positions it’s still bottom half and their offense was average (middle) too. This is a fringe playoff team at best.

Funny that Chicago still had to ask Seabrook to waive his NMC to be traded to Tampa despite the fact that he himself said he was hanging up the skates for good.

The ‘prospect’ Chicago traded today in the MAF trade will still remain with the Hawks’ farm club this season. f***ing snobby Vegas doesn’t want the kid mingling with their AHL prospects. :laugh:

So much for Sakic playing it smart. He gave him everything he wanted - term, money, AND a full NMC. They'll regret that in 3 years. The race is on to win a Cup before MacKinnon gets 11 per. Grubauer will get at least 5 per. Byram will probably get 7 million per too.

The DeAngelo/Hamilton swap will be a very smart move, playing for Rod the Bod he'll be kept in line and I predict he'll outproduce Hamilton next season. Take it to the bank!

It’s apparently one of the reasons he decided to sign with Carolina. Wanted to play under RB. Wouldn’t be surprised if it works out for all parties involved.

I'll put it simply--even when getting started in the dzone 70% of the time, the guy was the best play driver on the Canadiens. That's an absurd stat. Not even Kopitar, Bergeron, Toews...no one does that. In the entire league. I don't know how it ended, but mid playoffs that's how dominant he was.

So it requires some serious attention to appreciate what he does and I don't blame anyone for not really wanting him but the people outright denigrating him are out to lunch.

Not denigrating him just curious why he was getting so much hype. I admit I don't pay attention to the Canadians and watched a few playoff games but to be honest didn't notice him much. But now I know thanks for the heads up.

Last 4 years of the deal is a modified NTC.

“June 2027 Avs trade Landeskog and 2 second round picks to Arizona for future considerations.”

:laugh:

I'm not sure whether you're referring to acquiring the Seabrook contract or taking Johnson and the pick, and that kind of makes the situation even worse.

Kind of wild that that's all it took for Tampa to unf*** their roster.

Hell why not both! Acquire Seabrook's contract for some soggy Chicago pizza AND acquire Tyler Johnson for a 2035 second round pick and a couple Bud Light cans Kucherov crushed on his head.

Rod the Bod has a permanent "f*** around and find out" resting face...

David Quinn looks like he's running for city council...

If Eichel is healthy and they get him for that rumored package, Vegas just bent the league over.

What's a similar package from the Kings like?

Turcotte = Krebs
Hague = Anderson
Reilly = Some sort of draft pick since he won't be a long-term solution for Buffalo and is UFA after this season
Vegas 1st = Kings 2nd haha.

Wouldn't Turcotte, Anderson and LA's 1st and 2nd next year be better? Would you do that with all of the prospects already in tow for LA?

Exactly what I was thinking? Even swamp Kempe as well for “Reilly” and it’s easy yes.

Would've looked good on the 2nd line for the Kings.Vegas will be set now with scoring throughout their top 6.If rumors are true,great pick up.

How so? They're adding a guy who has never scored more than 13 goals, that's kempe type numbers . They still had problems scoring in the playoffs, and lack any elite type scorer. Seems like a waste of cap space.

The Vegas bump is real, that team does a great job of elevating players. I could see him being a 25 goal/60 point 2C with Marchessault and Tuch.
