No way we are getting past Vegas. We'll need more time to build a contender with this move...Sorry Doughty . In 4 years maybe. Their management is just about on every major UFA and they find a way to make it happen.

Figured Vegas was going after Danault.

Looks like Schmidt is off to Winnipeg for a pick.
Makes sense that's an upgrade for Vegas, and they can replace Schmidt.

Edit: Oops, I forgot Schmidt had moved onto Vancouver last season.

With so many potential Kings rumored to be off the board, maybe something actually does get announced tomorrow. No need to wait for day 5 UFAs, seems like that’s all that’ll be available on day 1.

Blake most recently said they’re looking for players on 2-3 year deals. I think he wants another Arvidsson type contract forward. So that eliminates guys like Saad and Coleman, who could help the Kings be more respectable if they were willing to take less money to play here.

The one guy who moved that stands out is Buchnevich. I’d happily take him on the Kings for his $5.8Mx4 year deal with StL. But at this point, we’ll most likely end up with Czisikas for 1/3 that money.

Damn, if this is true Eichel will be a Golden Knight next season.

If that’s true, I think Bill Karlsson is out the door. He makes $5.9M and Smith makes $5M, which covers Eichels cap hit. Karlsson only has a 10 team NTC. He could be moved as a pure cap dump, just like Fleury was. Maybe he goes back to Columbus.

The Knights could have Eichel, Danault, Patrick and Stevenson down the middle, backed by Petro, Theodore, AMart and Lehner. Crazy if this happens.

If you're McKrimmon, do you?

Yeah maybe just me but really don't get the hype on this guy. Am I missing something.

I'll put it simply--even when getting started in the dzone 70% of the time, the guy was the best play driver on the Canadiens. That's an absurd stat. Not even Kopitar, Bergeron, Toews...no one does that. In the entire league. I don't know how it ended, but mid playoffs that's how dominant he was.

So it requires some serious attention to appreciate what he does and I don't blame anyone for not really wanting him but the people outright denigrating him are out to lunch.

If Eichel is healthy and they get him for that rumored package, Vegas just bent the league over.

What's a similar package from the Kings like?

Turcotte = Krebs
Hague = Anderson
Reilly = Some sort of draft pick since he won't be a long-term solution for Buffalo and is UFA after this season
Vegas 1st = Kings 2nd haha.

Wouldn't Turcotte, Anderson and LA's 1st and 2nd next year be better? Would you do that with all of the prospects already in tow for LA?

I would, but I've been very pro-Eichel since news of his departure first broke. And when he's skating circles around our team for the next five years we'll be saying "we could've had him".
