Holy shit, I've seen this video a few times and only just realized it's in Arizona!!!!! This is such an awful look for the NHL, Arizona is such a disaster.

that's exactly it, and all 12 of their fans going crazy with LOL U MAD??? shit is just like... grow up

I just moved to Tampa from So Cal and can tell you they have a very large fan base. I was at the parade today on the water and there were tens of thousands of boats and so many people. It’s an underrated hockey town for sure.

I have no idea how Duncan Keith has any value at this point, especially when his cap hit is 5.5 for the next two years. His play has show consistent decline for many years and has gotten to the point where he's flat out bad

I dunno, I mean you can see what Oilers management thinks. They think they are getting this veteran defenseman for his last few years that can try and stabilize the blueline, but it just seems forced. Maybe it works out a little bit, but in the end it just feels like making a move to make one and trying to stir things around in a way that will ultimately wind up in just a waste of assets.

Edmonton has 16 million in cap space, and will probably buy out Neal. Keith's actual salary is only $2.1 mil and $1.5 mil. Its not really risky for Edmonton as their talent is all locked up other than a decent goalie. Keith's leadership for the team will probably go a long way.

They are a severely flawed team with ZERO depth, you can't be throwing 5.5 million in cap and assets for a guy who is a liability when he's on the ice. I honestly expected there to be retention and Chicago to be the one adding the pick.

For me from the Oilers POV they are likely going to have to pay more than $5.5M to bring in a UFA top 4 d-man. They have no one on their team with Stanley cup Pedigree (larsson was playing top minutes in the playoffs). Plus Keith' actual dollars is a lot less than his cap hit, so may help with the cost of a buy out of neal or koskinen or both.
From the Hawks POV, obviously frees up cap to go get Hamilton.

Oilers let Barrie test free agency and trade assets for Keith.

I like Keith but it’s a bit of a head scratcher. Player/coach I guess.

It's not that they let Barrie but Barrie was going that route as soon as he signed his one year deal.

Also Barrie's style is much more offensive which is not really what Edmonton needs more of. Keith is a better fit.

Darnell Nurse is a UFA after this season. Klefbom will is going to LTIR this year but salary probably returns the following season

So you really cannot go pay any solid 2nd or 3rd line UFA guys to any kind of a long term deal.

Might work out, but no retention is still brutal. If Blake did this we would want him canned.

Wow, sounds like Stamkos is on the block.

this does not shock me. He is the biggest cap hit to move, he is not front and center in most of their promotional stuff even though he is the captain, and he is far from the most important piece of that team. Plus every player has said hwo the team will not be together next year, so makes it sound like a bigger name is being moved than johsnon and Goodrow.

He has a full NMC though and I wonder where he would move it for

Heard it on NHL radio from Dave Pagnotta. Stamkos is a superstar and their captain, I’m very surprised. But they’ll probably keep him because Hedman needs knee surgery so he’ll be activated 24 hours before Round 1 Game 1 next season.
Gonna need a larger size t-shirt for Hedman. I don't think the size Kucherov had on will fit him.
