this does not shock me. He is the biggest cap hit to move, he is not front and center in most of their promotional stuff even though he is the captain, and he is far from the most important piece of that team. Plus every player has said hwo the team will not be together next year, so makes it sound like a bigger name is being moved than johsnon and Goodrow.

He has a full NMC though and I wonder where he would move it for

Yeah, he actually hasnt' been a big part of their success , oddly. Remember when he was getting revered for coming back just to score one goal last year? heh.

I could EASILY see them saying it's more important to keep, say, Coleman/Cirelli/one more instead of Stamkos.

Heard it on NHL radio from Dave Pagnotta. Stamkos is a superstar and their captain, I’m very surprised. But they’ll probably keep him because Hedman needs knee surgery so he’ll be activated 24 hours before Round 1 Game 1 next season.

Didn't TB ask Stamkos to waive his NMC last year before Kucherov went on Ltir?

I know their is at least one replica of the Stanley Cup which is on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame when the actual cup is being presented, taken on tour, etc. Maybe they should swap the replica out for the real cup right after the presentation. However, I don't think the players let it out of their sight once they receive it.

I just took a quick look at the Oiler board. they are not happy.

I wonder how soon before McDavid gets fed up and asks for a trade.

Keith at 37 >>>>>> than Maata

Isn't f***ing up the Stanley Cup an instant cancellation of your day with the Cup?

Dunno, but it should be made outta stainless, spring steel. None of this tin & silver crap. Hockey players, after all, are supposed to be rough and rugged. They need a trophy that matches who they are.......

I would agree with Tampa if they went that way. Their success is their depth (and elite level depth), if getting Stamkos to waive gives them ability to keep that depth they should. Biggest question is would he waive, and if so to where.

have to think it would need to be a cup contender. If Vegas is in on Eichel could they be in on Stamkos? Don't see how as the idea would be to clear cap for Tampa, and vegas would need to send money back. Maybe Colorado?

I wonder if Stammer is regretting taking that lower salary to stay with TB, figuring the savings he anticipated on having no state income tax. I guess he can get dealt to Dallas, Florida or Vegas and still get it - but other teams, not so much.

well he has a full no move so he can control where he goes

If true, get the buyout calculator on CapFriendly working! It also helps the Wild get out of protection issues for the expansion draft.

This will enable the Avs to protect Makar, Toews, Girard and Graves (4x4x1 scenario)..
