Barrie's worth way more than $4.25 million. I bet he'll get Muzzin-like money when all is said and done.

He should get something like a 6 x 6 deal, given how consistent he's been since he came into the NHL, .57 ppg. And logic would dictate he'll only get better, he's only 25. I think if it goes to arbitration, the arbitrator will use defensemen with similar numbers who've signed recently and an average based on the CAP.

Baffling that Barrie (and I've read/heard Landeskog name is out there as well as the usual Duschene rumors) would be in trade rumors. He's the only player not signed and they have over 6 M left. However, next year, they have a lot of contracts expiring and I get you have to move a big salary out sometimes, but he wouldn't be one of them.

Mrazek has signed a two year deal. $3.85 and $4.15

Good deal for the Wings, he's got under 100 games, that bridge deal is fair.

There are also rumblings NASH has signed Calle Jarnkrok to a six-year deal with an AAV in the $2M range

Shouldda gone with a bridge deal, kid....

Preds signed defenseman Matt Carle to a 1 yr/700K deal

Nice pickup...he played his best hockey under Laavy, and that will help him.

Ugh, the NHL Network just show Jamie Store getting run by Courtnall during their top 30 comebacks of all time. "And the only penalty is going to O'Donnell".

and then hearing Darrin Pang gushing over the comeback at the expense of (fellow goalie) Storr being run.

reminds me of 12 WCF when Smith 2-handed slashed Brown in the leg, and all Pang could say about it was "he really used the lumber there...." Two of the worst goalie interference / slashing calls and Pang doesn't even question them - he enjoyed them!

Just watching the Storr game again really pisses my off at Robinson. When your goalie gets run that blatently, someone HAD to run Fuhr, yet no one did.

I'm getting mad just thinking about it again.

%^ck everything St Louis!

If its any consolation, we have 2 Cups and St. Louis has still yet to win 1. Karma is a *****.

there was only one ref ( fatass koharski) that game and he was trying to breakup lappy and some ******* from the blues who were trying to go and he missed the whole play and apparently so did the linesmen, and at least half the building because when we turned around storr was on the ice and that coward turtled , got my blood pressure way up just thinking about it too, now he would have to pass concussion protocol to play , LR should have pulled him after the second goal

O'Donnell was awesome.

Jumped all over Courtnall. Really roughed up Drake the next season when he nearly killed Doug Bodger. Got suspended for three pre-season and two regular season games for attacking Matt Martin after Martin ran Doughty. Also loved when he destroyed Vaclav Varada in Buffalo after Varada speared him when the Kings were getting blown out. That one is worth looking up on Youtube.

Still think he did the right thing in attacking Courtnall, even if that's what Courtnall wanted.

Hated that Blues team. So nice to turn the tables on them this decade after they spent the 90s just hammering the Kings.

I don't blame O'Donnell at all for what he did. That was the proper response. The Kings being so terrible at killing a penalty (in addition to that fat lard Koharski) is what was so wrong with the team.

And with all due respect to Larry Robinson, he was a pretty lousy coach.

Ya, he wasn't one of the better ones in Kings history. He should've pulled Storr after goal 2.

Feces would have been lit up to if they went to him (see game 1 of that series)

Even if the Kings won that game, they would have lost the series in 5 anyways.

Varada was a rat. I loved when Odie fed that tool some fists.

Losing him in the expansion draft was so clownshoes.

Just read an article from the LA Times about it. Taylor is quoted saying something about how the game is moving towards speed and skill in relation to losing toughness in O'Donnell and McKenna (hahaha).

Then goes and drafts Jens Karlsson, David Steckel and Brian Boyle.

Post cup final 90s Kings was a bizarre time. I still don't think Storr ever fully recovered from Courtnall's run. He looked like he'd be a legit starter for a long time for the Kings.

Totally agree. And losing Boucher over a few hundred grand was also a giant facepalm.

Bobby Ryan's mother passed away from Liver Cancer recently.
This is his open letter to her in the Players tribune

It's amazing...

Loved that tribute to his mom. A lot of parental sacrifices have led to many NHL careers. It never gets old hearing about them. I'm sure Bobby's mom is smiling down from heaven after that loving tribute.

Tyson Barrie and COL sign a four-year deal with a $5.5M AAV

Good deal for whatever team he's traded to, which appears that it mght be the Oilers

and

Antione Vermette on waviers for a buy out by the Coyotes...17goals, 21 assists last year. The Youth movement in AZ continues. he was slated for 3.5M this year.

Really strange about Vermette, I wonder what's going on there? I wouldn't mind him as a stop gap 3C. He'd be an upgrade over Shore/Dowd and would provide some veteran leadership.
