Would be difficult to prove collusion. Look at how Yzerman operates his team and got his two top stars locked up long term.

There are very few sensible GMs left, and he's one of them.

Well if every team doesn't offer these players these contracts, that's going to be an issue. All it takes is one team to offer something crazy, and it's off to the races. Plus they have to spend the money. It's 50% either way.

Stamkos hasn't won yet. If he had a Cup, or maybe 2, perhaps he goes for more money. It sucks for the Kings about the timing for Kopitar's most recent contract.

Makes sense. Get rid of a guy like Subban who was a problem in the room and bring in Radulov who is true leader.

Maybe Montreal is kicking tires on bringing in Avery. Finish the trifecta of great decisions to make your locker room a better place.

THe NHL should shut the door on that. GM's fault for caving in to players unrealistic demands on term...

Some of these deals are brutal...

GMs and players like the CBOs. GMs get a way out of their stupid deals and players can get paid and sign another deal. The owners are the ones that need to stop these deals, but we all know that's not gonna happen.

Wow, the deals being handed out are so bad... Kind of glad Lombardi is sitting this out.

Lightning announce Andrei Vasilevskiy has signed an extension for 3 yrs at $3.5 mil per. Ben Bishop signed for 1 more season at $5.95 mil.

GOod Deal for the Bolts, given all the contracts they have to get done. I think he's trending in the right direction, given what I saw of him this year, he was terrific, esp in the playoffs under pressure.

If Bishop doensn't go now he'll go b4 Feb, they need the cap space

Gonna be feeling differently when this team is scratching and clawing just to make the playoffs, but feeling way better when they are able to re-sign Toffoli next summer.

Dean should just resign Toffoli now like the Lightning are doing with their upcoming RFAs and UFAs so he has a better idea of what he is working with cap wise moving forward.

Just sign Brad Richards and call it a day .

Toffoli would be stupid to sign now.

Exactly. He's got the same agent at Kopitar and Toewes, he'll wait until next season is over mos likely.

Will be interesting to see his production this coming season as the best winger on the team.

Depending on lines, I'd put the 70s Line as the #1 over the Kopitar line based on Kopitar's wingers. Interested to see if they would draw top D assignments at that point and if he can pot 30 again.

6 million per for Loui Eriksson? On Vancouver no less? Weird.
\

Term.

Like Lucic (and Backes I suspect) he wanted the most years. Boston was willing to go 4, as were some others, he wanted more. Not a good signing for the Canucks but they tend to be desperate.

Vancouver's last offer for Kris Russell is believed to be in excess of $25MM.

 Benning going to Benning.

Benning pulling a Benning. At least the ****fests that are Montreal and Vancouver make me feel slightly better.

will be determined by the coach, and not the ones thta most posters here have. TT was on Kopi's line last year, and where he should be , he's the best winger on the team and should have the best playmaking /distributing center.
