I hope to see one day that a player during an interview of why they signed with a club would just say they offered me the most money.

Money and term is absurd on almost every one of these deals.

Hoping that Hamhuis maybe goes the Campbell route and signs on the cheap for short term with LA.

Beyond that, there will be no forwards signed by LA today. Going to have to get that done through trade.

I'm glad we didn't pull that deal with Lucic. I'm sure he'll do great there the first couple years, but after that who knows. I'm guessing they'll regret it once they see that dropoff.

Roll roll roll, roll the dice
Pay pay pay, pay the price
Roll roll roll, gimme a roll
I wanna roll, roll the dice

"Ranger State of Mind" in full mode.

Thats a fair contract for Lucic and the Kings will regret not giving it to him. I say Lucic performs highly throughout entire contract. Not every player ends up like Brown

Lol are you kidding? Lucic is already not the same player he was before. He was good with us but he's only gonna get worse from here.

Kings shouldn't be giving these huge contracts to older players. We're gonna need room to sign the kids anyway.

Lucic's money is perfect for the next 3-4 years. After that it's a question mark.

The world economy can do a lot in 5 years though so maybe none of these deals will look awful, but I'd bank against that unless we're getting back to the 9 million a year for Bobby ****ing Holik contract that broke the league. Or was that Guerin? I forget.

or Gomez? or Redden? I'm sensing a theme here..

Man, overpayments for everyone, not necessarily in dollars, but the terms being thrown around...

like the dollar figures are pretty bang-on for everyone, but when guys like McGinn are getting 3 years, Looch 7, Staal 3...

Honestly, how can anyone be sympathetic towards the owners if they opt to lockout the players again?

They're doing this to themselves.

It's done more in concert by both than just one side. What are they all supposed to do, not offer these guys these contracts? That would be collusion.

The players want free agency because they get to drive up their price. The owners want the lockouts, because they can reset things to some extent. Then round and round they go.

Damn Yzerman is killing it. Hedman below $8 million!?

yup

The San Jose Sharks have signed David Schlemko to a four-year deal worth $2.1 million per season; Really underrated player in my mind

Eckblad...

FLA is finalizing Aaron Ekblad's eight-year, $60M extension.

42 million for 7 years for lucic...wow...overpayment

Full NMC too...

LeBrun saying the Habs were the runner up. Not the team I would have expected

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 54m54 minutes ago

Jamie McGinn has signed with Arizona Coyotes, three years, $10 million

Good pickup for the Yotes...

Flames are gonnna be a lot better next year...got a goalie, a new stud winger and depth scoring.

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 1h1 hour ago

Brouwer, four years, $4.5 million per season, with Flames

Would be difficult to prove collusion. Look at how Yzerman operates his team and got his two top stars locked up long term.

There are very few sensible GMs left, and he's one of them.

The players in Tampa also have incentive to keep that group together. They're dedicated to winning a Cup, that's why we're seeing those good deals.
