Shots were 31-31. Did that totally bore you?

That kids been crying all week about the dead puck era, especially the Isles and Habs. It's funny because I don't think he's actually been watching because none of the Isles series have really been boring and tbh they lucked out that Jarry was hot garbage because Pittsburgh was playing some pretty good hockey and Jarry screwed them over big time. It's also funny that out of all the teams remaining the Isles have the most goals scored. Not bad for a team that belongs in the dead puck era and just traps and plays defensive hockey with no offence really.

And let me guess. If the Islanders end up losing this series or in the cup final, it will be Lou's failure right?
Uh, no? I give Lou credit for bringing in Trotz even if it was a pretty dam obvious thing to do and the Pageau trade and signing. That's all he has really done that's significant.

Hahahaha. K.
Really? What significant players has Lou brought in? Pageau. That's it. He brought in Varlamov but that could have easily backfired too, very risky play.

I'm also willing to admit Dubas isn't perfect but to act like Lou is some amazing GM who has done amazing work over there when it's clear Trotz has been the biggest difference, is just crazy.

Very good of you to "willingly admit" Dubas isn't perfect. That shouldn't be up for debate. It shouldn't take any emotion or heartache to admit he's not perfect. He's proper f***ed this up. For all the Dubas fanboys playing down everything Lou has accomplished to prop their boy up, he just keeps on trucking, and keeps going further.

Give me a shit GM like Lou, over Kyle "I'll reivent the game" Dubas any day of the week. I prefer results, over trusting the plan/program/process.

Their attitude is 'let's make the game unwatchable because the refs will not penalize our obstruction'
Only reason you can't watch is because they're winning lol. Had the isles been losing games and been eliminated you'd be claiming like an expert how poor the Islanders game play is.

Isles just continue to show you don't need to needlessly rush the puck and make fancy passes to win in the playoffs

rushing the puck and speed don't matter in the playoffs?

So the game's supposed to get slower?

Yes that's literally the playoffs in most sports.

Take the NBA for example. The pace of play gets slower, less fast break chances more half court offense and tougher to get looks/calls in the paint

NHL less breakaways and sloppy turnovers from good disciplined teams. Have to create in zone offense at EVS and usually it's through puck battles along the boards and point chances

I never said speed isn't important. In the playoffs speed of a teams forecheck and ability to stop clean zone exits. Isles have an elite forechecking lineup which stops teams from exiting the zone leading to pressure and in zone chances for the isles

So multi-year rebuild is no longer necessary.... Just hire Trotz.

Believe it or not other teams will get all 5 players on the ice to help play D. Games not gonna change just because some of your favourite superstar players are afraid of a little body contact and having to go into crowded areas to fight for pucks and goals. It's also too bad that other teams just don't let these superstars you love dance around and do whatever they want because they got speed and can rush the puck. Speed is one of the easiest things in this game to eliminate from a team so idk why you keep going on about speed and rushing the puck. This isn't the old days where guys with speed moved around easily because back then a majority of the players in the league were slower so those few who could skate really good stood out and that's not the case nowadays since a majority of the players in the league are good skaters. Hockey IQ and heart are the 2 most important things not just in hockey but any sport. If speed is that important then we're screwed and wasted a 1st round pick on Sandin then right? I think you blocked me because you stopped responding because you can't really come up with a good counter argument and keep repeating yourself every post.

Of the top 30 regular season leading scorers only Mark Stone of Vegas the last man standing.

The take away is that lots of skilled players during the regular season score on the rush and use their speed and skill to generate offense. coming through the middle of the ice.

In the playoffs good defensive teams clog up the middle, and disrupt the attach, and take away time and space, and you'd better be a good dump and chase team that generates offense off of hard work on the boards, and down low on the cycle, winning physical 50/50 puck battles. This nullifies talent and emphasizes hard work and compete.

Pilling up lots of regular season personal stats and points is not transferable to playoff style hockey unless you're equipped to change your systems and your game. The most successful teams appear to ones that play playoff style winning hockey all year and not just in the playoffs.

This looks like the copy and paste of one of Babcock's interviews lol

AND

Right on!!!!

LMAO

Trotz is on record saying he went to Isles because of Lou. Trotz wanted to work with Lou
So? Getting Trotz was an obvious move, that's all I'm saying.

Some of you guys are way too salty in here lol. I'm glad I don't let the results of the playoffs affect me for weeks on end.
