Shots were 31-31. Did that totally bore you?You miss the dead puck era?
I agree, unfortunately.Don't see it this year. Outside of a possible Rielly trade, I think it'll be status quo for core management and players in 21-22.
Of the top 30 regular season leading scorers only Mark Stone of Vegas the last man standing.
The take away is that lots of skilled players during the regular season score on the rush and use their speed and skill to generate offense. coming through the middle of the ice.
In the playoffs good defensive teams clog up the middle, and disrupt the attach, and take away time and space, and you'd better be a good dump and chase team that generates offense off of hard work on the boards, and down low on the cycle, winning physical 50/50 puck battles. This nullifies talent and emphasizes hard work and compete.
Pilling up lots of regular season personal stats and points is not transferable to playoff style hockey unless you're equipped to change your systems and your game. The most successful teams appear to ones that play playoff style winning hockey all year and not just in the playoffs.

The next team canada coach
I’m finding losing in the 1st round every year pretty boring.Your grasping at straw with this narrative, by no means are the Isles playing boring hockey....
Pretty much. If people want to start this false narrative that Lou was this amazing GM here, thats up to them but it's wrong.
People putting down Lou for not doing anything here. No, you’re wrong. High water mark was Washington and 1st Boston series. The team was trending upward until they hired a stick boy to manage the team.
It’s been downhill ever since.
Bury your head in the sand if you’d like. You sound ridiculous.

Time will not be kind to the Team Dubas posters who think he’s infallible........People putting down Lou for not doing anything here.
Why does Lou have only 3 seasons at the start of a rebuild to save the world but Dubas gets unlimited tries?
If you don’t have the right core it doesn’t matter who the GM is.Dude, stop. Nobody is saying that Lou was amazing here.
All we’re saying is, Shanahan letting him go for Dubas was a BIG mistake. And every year we’re being proven more and more right.
Trotz has done all the work, not Lou.Man, Lou has done such a good job with the Islanders.
