Obviously you have more talent at the top, but nevertheless, even the top plays with the same mentality.

I was critical of Babcock and thought he needed to go and one of the reasons was we needed to find out how much of a issue the core really was.
I just dont see these 4 guys being able to play this style of hockey consistently and what makes it worse is the fact they take up so much cap space.

The more I see other teams, the more we need to blow it up, the culture, players whatever it is, we don’t play like this....at all.

Well, blowing it all up maybe a bit of a stretch. But, yeah, as it stands, watching this Isles Tampa game, we are nowhere near being on the same level as either one of these teams.

No that’s what many of us have been saying.
Oh sure they will manage a round win and some point. Give them 10 tries you are bound to get one or 2, but 4 rounds to the Cup. No. Not with this core and the money left for quality depth/support.

They don’t watch hockey after the Leafs are eliminated so they don’t have a clue what it takes........
He's done such a good job. The Islanders have a very good chance to beat the Lightning, despite what the Dubas fan club say.

It would take a special GM to salvage this build from the damage already done. Give Dubas a couple of more years and nothing will be left and we'll be hoping for lucky ping pong balls again.

I still think the finals will be Vegas/Tampa but it really goes to show you that you need a solid team build, star players for sure but they don’t have to all be 11 million or take up half the cap.
Balance with some blue collar skill wins in the playoffs.
An Islanders Cup would send a message to the entire league- talent and skill do not matter one bit.
