Did those Avs big boys show up today or how about the last portion of this series? Not defending our stars as they deserve blame but lets not act only Leafs players don't show up.
What does 50% have to do with this? Both teams stars failed in a series.

Rantanen played exceptionally, goal in this game and I believe points in all but one game. Mackinnon had a few multi point games. Landeskog scored. The way I see it

Rantanen = Nylander
Mackinnon > Matthews
Landeskog >>> Marner

They showed up way more, even looking at the last few games.

Mack had 3 setups in 3rd period. two missed by Makar. I am not sure what else you want him to do
Landeskog had a great chance himself

Were you watching the game? Fleury was really good

They lost because Avs D were being slaugthered. Girard alone cost them the game

Rantanen going into this year playoffs had a 15 point scoring streak in playoffs...........

15 games point streakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Why even look far, Cale Makar is a play off per point player......well almost(31 points in 35 games as a D)

Yeah, easy to pad your stats when your first round opponents are Calgary, Arizona and St Louis on the downswing.

Sure..... You mean like Columbus and Montreal are so tough powerhouses?

I mean their D has 31 points in 35 games....... our so called prodigies can't even score against teams that can't score

Sure..... That doesn't mean we won the trade
He still got fleeced

Agree, Dubas is weak and trash.. puts on a front to play savior boy, but he's just a child in our GM position. Our owners and GM only care about money.

Remember, Campbell was once savior boy. after his cute 11 game win streak you had Matthews and Marner saying "so proud of you" on live TV. Pure feelings garbage. Weak as it gets......

Just in this series vs ours and the habs I should have elaborated. Id rather rantanen on our team then nylander.

Dude, he has 50 points in 43 playoff games ................... He makes less than Marner
They were both drafted in the same year and he signed his contract after Marner did

How are they getting better deals when he has been consistently better than Marner even in points
Only one year Marner out scored him( his contract year?)

How's other GM's getting better deals

I always really liked Kadri and was happy to see him find a good fit with another team, but man, did he screw up so very much with that suspension.

Avs look in shock

This is the second year he has costs the Avs...last year, he was clueless in the defensive zone which led to the OT goal by Dallas...the Avs stripped him of the "A" this year, and then he goes out and gets himself suspended for no good reason. I wonder if Sakic is fed up with him enough to trade him in the off season.

Haven't heard this before

Vegas doesn't give you time to breathe...they are relentless on the forecheck and they hit hard...they have a solid d core led by Pietrangelo and Theodore, and have a great goalie in the Flower...the path to the finals doesn't get easier than playing the Habs for Vegas...they tied with the Avs in points, but finished 2nd in the league due to the tiebreaker...Vegas is a great team, unlike the Leafs and the Jets...think about it, they beat the Avs 4 straight to take the series.

Dubas got scared from an offersheet threat.

He should have taken the picks if they were really going to sign a sheet.

For all this roster building and "we can and we will" you cant help but laugh at how the habs have made it closer to the finals than we have in almost 20 years.

Well maybe our stupid f***ing fanbase should've stopped saying he was better than Matthews, then he would've had less leverage

What an entertaining series that Vegas vs Avs was . Great hockey.

You have to love a player like Alex Tuch man would he look good on the Leafs what a force of nature that guy is.

Marner never had an offersheet that paid him more than what Dubas gave him, if he had an offersheet at all...no team was giving up 4 firsts for Marner to sign an offersheet...it was all negotiation tactics by Marner and his camp, and Darren Dreger was a mouthpiece..."brisk offersheet action" was being floated around by Dreger...it was ridiculous...Dubas was a weaka55 and a dumba55 for overpaying Marner.

Skill wise Colorado is similar to us. Style wise their players and coaches know how to score in playoffs. Lots of pucks directed at net with tons of traffic and rebounds. Our coaches and management aren’t smart enough

Tuch is my ideal 3rd liner. Fast as hell, hits, defensively aware. Eric Robinson is another

Fingers crossed the NHL's new broadcast partners down south start putting pressure on them to protect the stars like McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon, Panarin, etc. Lord knows ESPN love's talking about NBA star players, they'd probably want the same for the NHL.

Though I'm doubtful any meaningful change will occur as long as guys like Colin Campbell still have power.
