Vegas manhandled the Avalanche. That's a great team right there and a template for us to follow.

We have no chance against the size and tenacity those guys play with.

Learn, Dubas!

It's not about size and tenacity. It's about having 3 strong lines, which the juggernaut leafs never figured out.

They have Stone/Pacioretty on line 1, Marchessault/Smith on line 2, and Tuch on line 3.

Imagine if the leafs did Matthews on line 1, Tavares/Nylander on line 2 and Marner on line 3.

No way we beat Vegas. Absolutely no way
We would have been killed with our bs puck possesion game

I would have felt sorry for our D. Sandin, Dermott and Rielly would have been killed by onslaught of Vegas forwards

Luckily Reaves doesn't playin North. Him and Tuch alone would have ruined Sandin's career

At least our stars aren't the only ones who don't show up in the playoffs. All though really it's just star in our case in Marner.
Kadri should be ashamed of himself now the 2nd team he has costed in the playoffs twice. Dubas did absolutely the right thing in trading Kadri and he might have won the trade too. Kerfoot was good in both series and did more then Kadri did with us.

We're soft, man.

Tuch, McNabb crushed those guys. We don't stand a chance against physicality. Montreal showed that.

Yeah I never understood keeping the two pairs together. Nylander and Matthews can easily carry their own lines. You spread them out across 3 lines and create matchup nightmares for the opponent.

Look up the avs scoring from the Avs top 3 in the playoffs then look at ours.

Then remind yourself that our top 3 is making 50% more in AAV.

Leafs are straight garbage, no defending the big boys on my watch.

They have a great forecheck and physicality but let's not ignore the brains while focusing on the tits. They have good players spread throughout the lineup. Something Toronto could easily pull off considering the fact that they might be the only team in the NHL with 4 elite offensive talents.

While those are all true. Size and Tenacity does matter
They out hit more skilled Avs team. They made Girard look like an Ahler. Got Makar to turn the puck over
They scored the winning goal of a turn over

All investments from hits and tenacity............

All the 4 remaining teams are very well known more for their tenacity than their skills. Even Tempa bay is high tenacious team

The Matthews era leafs team that was the most fun was when they did a similar thing with Matthews/Kadri/Marner+JVR.

This is living in a bubble.
Matthews vs Mack......... Mack is better
Marner vs Rantanen ............. Ranatanen is better
Nylander vs Landeskog........... Landeskog

Only advantage is Tavares when he's at his best.....

But after that is a big fall off.....

Dubas did the right thing trading him but doesn't mean he won the trade

Kadri last year alone had 18 points in 15 games............ That's more than all our big boys combined last 2 years
Let that sink in for a bit

Kadri had to go....... no doubt....... but Dubas got schooled. If someone told me I can get a player for 18 points in playoffs, even for one year and he may go over the top........ I'll take that any sunday

So Matthews showed up in the first round? lmao!!!!! I would hate to see what he is like when he does not show up, it would literally be him not showing up at the rink.... horrible take...

Hoping my fellow Leaf fans are smart enough to NOT want Vegas to succeed. 0 suffering and league finances vs our teams long suffering.

Kadris suspension this year was stupider than any suspension with us. Avs were leading the game and series, but he still decided to throw a stupid hit on the Blues player. It wasn't reactionary and out of spite like with us, but just out of nowhere. Shook my head when I saw it.

Did those Avs big boys show up today or how about the last portion of this series? Not defending our stars as they deserve blame but lets not act only Leafs players don't show up.
What does 50% have to do with this? Both teams stars failed in a series.

Sure..... That doesn't mean we won the trade
He still got fleeced

A roster that's weak defensively top to bottom, just like Toronto.
