Even the Kings weren't that quick.

I see what you did there.

Hope these last two games around the league have been proof enough to everyone that a two game sample size shouldn't mean the sky is falling or that Arizona is cup-bound.

Crosby - 2GP, 0G, 0A, 0Pts, 0 shots, 49.1%fo
McDavid - 2GP, 0G, 0A, 0Pts, 4 shots, 20.8%fo

Expecting the main boards to realize this kind of logic is the same as asking for rain in a desert that hasn't seen a single storm in thousands of years.

One can hope for it, but it just won't happen.

I propose this picture be used when the kings start losing next game to get our minds off the game.

Damien Cox on what PTO’s mean for the future…

•12 players got contracts off PTOs (professional tryouts) this fall. That’s about a third of the number of players who had tryouts. You are going to see a lot more of these going forward, and you’re also going to see a lot more players on July 1st sign for less than a million dollars because they don’t want to be left in that situation.

That's an interesting forecast and I'd have to agree, esp with the CAP likely to be hovering near 70M or maybe less.
And it will be a competitive situation for some teams if they need to fill a certain position and several are available. They wont' want to end up like Curtin Glencross who might be out of work.

lastly, from Eklund (why does saying that outloud come out like a severe rush of indigestion)

Currently I am hearing the Isles and Kings are in pretty intense discussions....a deal that would bring some experience to the Isles...and some needed help to LA.

so I have heard and read (from the more credible realm) that DL is looking for a top defensemen, so I'm guessing that' sthe 'much needed help' but wondering who the 'experience' player is going the other way?
The only name that has been out there from the isle is Okposo, but don't DL doing that.

I don't see the Isles trading any of there defense tbh. The only player I could see the Kings having intrest in would be Fans Neilson to solidify the 3rd Center spot.
Also Eklund said the other day that the Kings were closing in on Phaneuf.

Hence why Eklund has the same amount of credibility as me.

Hey everyone Kings closing in Sidney Crosby. Reportedly Pittsburgh wants to add depth so young players Dwight King and Jordan Weal are the centerpieces going the other way among other things. And that's a HC4 confirmation.

Do I start a blog now?

Sadly, a year too late. Isles did great there, giving up a couple 2nd rounders.
and Boston underestimated just how invaluable he was both on the ice and off. Huge loss of leadership that they never recovered from.

Man, totally agreed. Always thought he was a beast, didn't realize how much of one, especially off the ice.

The Kings have been "closing in" on Phaneuf for a couple of years now.

Underestimated might be a little strong. They didn't have room for another big money defenseman. Hamilton was still there too. They could've kept Boychuk for another year, but chose to get something for him. The Islanders had the cap space, and took advantage of the Bruins cap situation, like they did with Leddy and the Hawks.

Well many articles did indicate the Boychuk ripped the heart out of the Bruins locker room before the season started. I strongly agree with Dee's statement.
