The other Connor is loving that he’s getting a big fat bonus for playing 10 games.
I cant think of anything other than Yashin whenever i see it, but the shirts are easy enough to wear nowadays that it makes sense.

I welcome a McDavid homecoming as much as the next guy. But I will say one thing that kinda bugs me for Edmonton fans is the awful body language and pouty ways of a McDavid and Draisaitl. They’re out their pleasure skating on so many goals against. You definitely appreciate our star back checking more watching them “efend”.

Feel like it used to be kind of a slick look with the “Jofa” crowd and Quebec goalies back in the day but Yashin definitely took it to parody levels.
I think they literally gave up. They never played this way even last year or seasons before that.
Now I am not saying they are defensive sound but at least they put an effort in chasing down plays. But this year, they just stopped.

Honestly, they always play like this and mope when struggling. I think of all the bad body language from the North Division when the Leafs kept beating the doors off Edmonton and always thought it wasn’t quite right. Granted they’ve never struggled like this offensively, but they’ve always been casual, careless and disinterested on the defensive side and have showed a lot of bad energy over the years. I’m not even dunking on them. You know it’s a problem when someone asks why are you pissy?

I think they have to accept that this season is a write off. I know it’s early and there’s still time but I wouldn’t invest any future into trying to lift that sorry group.

I’ve long maintained they need to transition to a blue collar, pack rat, Oilers under Ron Low, Sabres under Lindy Ruff kind of team. Depth, pace, defense, goaltending, de-emphasize the scoring and big names. Said the same of the Sabres when they were in that bad marriage with Eichel. Sometimes a market just can’t handle certain star power without falling into the trap of building a program as their career vehicle.
