It's to bad we didn't draft Guhle instead of Amirov.
He would have looked great in our D now.

At the time of the draft not because of what happened Amirov.

That’s a hard argument to make even in hindsight.

There's no hindsight. A lot of people in hockey had Guhle in that spot for Leafs or Oilers
It was between Schnieder or Guehle

Anyways, I am not going to second guess that pick. RIP Amirov
We hit a homerun with Knies

Waive Jack Campbell after Stuart Skinner gets blown out of the water and fire the coach after a 4-1 win, 2 days after losing to the Sharks. Think there's something really wrong in Edmonton.

McDavid's 5th coach
RNH's 10th coach

If they didn't draft McDavid, they would have been an AHL team for the last 8 years
What a joke of an organization

Just my theory, but Edmonton needs to go the way of the recent Sabres builds and load up on defense and roll 3 lines of pack rat forwards like they did in the early to mid 2000s. There's this weird anxiety with having these big ticket offensive stars in small markets, not quite replicating the 80s and so much anxiety. But if I were to rebrand that team it would be a lot more Ryan Smyth, Chris Pronger than McDrai. Or just imagine the LA Kings roster in Edmonton colours. For me, that's what I imagine Edmonton looking like as a really quality team in this league.

They hired McDavid’s junior coach.

While he is the best player in the world, his track record as a GM leaves much to be desired.

This season goes any more sideways for them, and it can but it’s early and they could also go 8-1-1 in their next ten. I’m not saying it’s a position you want to be in but it’s possible.

They miss and the golden child has a subpar year (less than 100 points), you know he’s going to be the scapegoat and he probably knows he’s going to be the scapegoat.

Drai is already with a foot out the door, look at his pressers after a game where the Oilers lose 6-4 but he gets a goal and two assists and he’s having to hold in what everyone is thinking but doesn’t say. The look on his face says ‘I’ve been talking to you idiots for half an hour if this was Los Angeles or Nashville I’d be home by now.’

Drai goes after next year what is Connie’s impetus to stay? 90% of GMs would trip over themselves giving up a boatload of picks and two of their best three assets to get him.

Edmonton seemed pretty good at everything besides goaltending and putting the puck in the net, but it's not like Woodcroft can just tell his skaters to score more or goalies to make saves. I'm sure he lost the room to a certain extent, but he's now the 4th coach who is out the door. Maybe it's the room that's to blame
